Morning all Brick Red at Sandown 1.50 should be hard to beat today. Decent performance lto behind Mr Mole where a mistake at the second last put paid to his chances. Must have a great chance @ 4/1. Global Power at Fos Las 2.40. Was on the cusp of making the cut for the Welsh National and trainer expressed frustration at not getting a run. Compensation in the offing today, easier race and similar bog like conditions which should be ideal. 11/2. Good luck all
Morning All. Today'd lucky 15. Sandown Park,1-50. Ulck Du Lin. Ffos Las,2-05. Silsol. Ffos Las,2-40. Smiles For Miles. Sandown Park,3-35. Just A Par. Good luck to all.
Two for me today. 2.10 Wetherby Pepite Rose 10/3 has seen her mark fall 8lb since the start of the year and off a mark of 146 she's now only 1lb above the mark she absolutely bolted in at Newbury last March. As a previous course winner, I think she's going to take a huge amount of beating and I've had a decent size bet on her. 4.10 Sandown After Eight Sivola 7/1 was a fortuitous winner last time out when the eventual runner up threw away the race when hanging late on. He's gone up 5lb for that victory and is in a better race but I definitely think there's a lot more to come from this half brother to the high class Reve De Sivola and from a low weight of 10-6 when including the claim of the excellent Lizzie Kelly I think a huge run is definitely on the cards for the in form Nick Williams team.
Have to agree with Tom Segal in the Weekender the other day - jockeys seem to lack patience these days. The number of times you see them press on from too far out is astonishing. (warning: pocket talking to some extent after Rouge Et Blanc dicked on the line at Ffos Las).
Young lad on it tried to hold on to him for as long as he could. Horse stays further too. Yes, I also backed him.
Good shout in the comp Stick - you da man. So far Ron: if you see this - no staking plan in the comp, and you had the first winner!
Puffin Billy fairly treated in this handicap thanks to the top weight, so Puffin goes off 11st 2lb. Conditions suit so he looks really nice e/w value- for once.
Can someone please stop Paul Nichols monopolising these big Saturday races?!! Champagne West for me, but probably a 3 miler, which mightn't b a bad thing today lol
This National is going to be a right slog in conditions. Had a little e/w on Firebird Flyer who loves the mud
British novice chasers are bang average this season. There are only two who might surprise you- Josses Hill (a big if but potential to be very good nonetheless) and Ptit Zig, who has been really good all season. Anyone think of another good British novice chaser that might do well?
Good performance from the Mullins horse, receiving weight all round. The owner says they didn't expect to win, so maybe that says it all Smiles For Miles next up as Ffos
Ptit Zig about the best of the English I'd say. Had hopes for Saphir du Rheu too, but his jumping needs refined and obviously won't be chasing in March. Josses Hill, behave yourself lol And you too Oddy In all seriousness, KP will be in a COMPLETELY different world in an RSA not dictating a small runner affair where he has a freebie upfront! We saw in a proper race last year he was out of his depth big style and I'd be very surprised should history not repeat. The one thing doesn't win RSAs is flash and KPs is just that. I'd give him a better chance in a JLT but the attritional nature of an RSA?! Not for me.
