Tough game this one, if Sahko is out, I can see us conceding......correction, I can see us conceding more than one! Andy Carroll will cause mayhem in the box and what with our lack of ability to defend set pieces, I can't see a clean sheet. That said, West Ham have been slightly off the boil lately and am hoping that they find our movement too much to handle. I can see Big Sam reverting to a very direct style rather tha n try to outplay us......and with potentially only one recognised CB on the pitch, that's a massive worry! Both Gerrard and Lucas saw out the game on Tuesday and I can see the former being rested, perhaps coming on for Lucas if he tires after 70-80 minutes, with Lallana replacing Stevie. Can also see Sturridge getting 30 minutes if we need a goal. If not, he may well get the extra weeks rest. So a game with goals for sure? I'd go for 2-1, 2-2 or 3-2.....although scoring 3 without a striker may be a stretch. Probably 0-0 now.
The worry for me is that I can see them scoring at least one against us. There is no way that over 90 minutes, that Carroll (!) will not score from a set piece. So it means Sterling outscoring the Whammers.
He's back and in the squad, but is he back, back!? Hope he can hit the ground running but in reality it will take at least a couple of games?? He's in a good position if he can take it up, come in and be the main man and fire us up the league
Can't say I'd have targeted the West Ham game for a return PS...back back? Is that like "out out"...?
It will be a tough game, Allardyce loves beating us and Im sure Carroll and Downing wouldnt mind either No, its like yes he's back, but is the Sturridge we know and love back. Hope injury hasnt slowed him down, BR has said all the usual he's looked fantastic in training etc
Liverpool have question marks over the fitness of Mamadou Sakho (knock), while Alex Song, James Tomkins, Carl Jenkinson (all "knocks and bruises" according to Allardyce) and James Collins (back) are doubts for West Ham. Match Appointments Referee: Andre Marriner Assistants: S Ledger, M McDonough Fourth Official: M Jones Match Facts Liverpool have only won three of their last 10 home Barclays Premier League matches (W3 D5 L2). Glen Johnson has scored three goals and has one assist in his last six Barclays Premier League appearances against his former club. West Ham United have yet to win at Anfield in the BPL and their victory over Liverpool this season was only their third in the last 23 Barclays Premier League meetings (W3 D4 L16). Sam Allardyce's team have scored the most goals (10) in the 15 minutes after the break in the division.
Can't wait to see Cout and Studge link up regularly https://mtc.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/22...p4?versionId=12WU_FBqOhyFp9SuO2vclV6y4wcMDb6V
Coutinho just gets better and better lately. I can't wait for him, Sturridge and Sterling to be all linking up.
Every player in our squad is a squad player, whether it be Steven Gerrard, Rickie Lambert or Daniel Sturridge. Some play more than others but no one can play every single game. Its a squad game. You don't rate Lallana but if were to ignore the price tag or someone was to tell you he actually cost £10m then you'd rate him, you're judging him on the fee (which you happen to keep getting wrong too, it was £25m )
Lallana will be fantastic for us. I think he'll step up again when we've got a proper focal point up front. Defensively this game could be tough. If Sakho isn't playing, we've got to go with Lovren and not Johnson. They're a big team and good in the air so even if Lovren is just a heading stick in the box, it's better than Glen. He's been out for a while now and the break might have helped settle him. He IS a good defender. He just needs to get down and show it.
