I've just been looking at Cargiant's proposals and website for Old Oak or whatever they plan to call it, now it could just be me reading too much in to this, but if you look at the difference in quality between our site and theirs, their plans and ours, it seems not much effort has gone in to their at all. I know they're probably 2 years behind us in terms of planning, but if they were serious and if the developers they're working with were serious, surely they'd know that we are in position A and would need to pull out all the stops in every department to trump our plans?

Back to their developers. The biggest project they've worked on was 900 hundred new homes. Our plans are for 25,000 and we've hired about the biggest developer in the country.

And finally, something else I found interesting. The very final paragraph on their site says "Cargiant is moving locally to facilitate this redevelopment, but will stay involved and is committed to making this regeneration happen." None of the blustering about not going anywhere, QPR can do one blah blah. They know they're out of there whether they like it or not, there's no stopping Boris on this one.

So if this is a 2 horse race as it would seem, surely no one could think Cargiants so far imaginary plans are a better option than we've put forward. Something else I never considered is that we also own Loftus Road, that's another 5 thousand "affordable homes" we can offer in to the mix.

    Fingers crossed.

I just opened a thread about this (perhaps my thread should be deleted, Beth?).

It can be done Kiwi, and UTR's knows how...

You know shipping containers, well as everyone is aware they stack up high..

Well you can now live in these with slight modifications...

Being they are just shipping containers I bet they would fall into the affordable price bracket which is almost unheard of in London. Look at the final image, the possibilities are endless, I would call it Loftus Heights..

On the 7th of May vote UTR's for common sense solutions to the UK's problems...

Now being serious for a mo, the Eric Pickles approval that's doing the news rounds is a big boost for our plans so things are looking much brighter for the moment on that front. We now have to just hope the footy side brightens up pretty sharpish.

Definitely more profile at present. 40,000 seater - hope we can fill that.

If nothing else it'll speed things up, now the site has been approved for development the people in charge won't want to hang around so you would think decisions should be made fairly soonish!

I think Phil Beard needs a mention on this thread. Having this man on board is a big asset in making our dreams of a new stadium and training ground come true.

Phil played a big part during the UK bidding for the London Olympics and also turning that white elephant the Millennium Dome into the successful O2 Arena.

If anyone has the time then this link is worth a gander http://www.director.co.uk/MAGAZINE/2008/3 March/philip_beard_61_8.html

OK so he may not be the football man that's needed at QPR but he will play a big role in making us a more stable club in the coming years.
