I think you never know these days.

I think a DM will cost more than 20mil if they are a good un.. like carvalho. and a striker is minimum 30.... the fees are onyl going one way.

My opinion is that you buy the really nailed on this is my job on the line players first like oh i dunno... rodgers bout lallana and lovern <doh> and then fill in around.

If LFC had the modern equivilant of hyppia, alonso and torres signed up nobody would f'n care about bargain hunting like delph and milner... peoepl care cos we are "filling in" the star slots with the bargains... again.... its like 2009 all over again.

milan jovanovic, joe cole et al... <laugh>

Liverpool interested in Hannover pair Lars Stindl and Leonardo Bittencourt, according to @SPORTBILD.

Liverpool are hoping that they can complete the signing of Ezequiel Lavezzi before next Monday's transfer deadline, according to the Daily Express.

The Argentinian forward remains out-of-favour at Paris Saint-Germain after a reported spat with manager Laurent Blanc.

And the Reds are hoping to secure the 29-year-old on the cheap in a bid to revitalise their attack, which is pretty much solely relying on Raheem Sterling at the moment.

A fee in the region of £14million is expected for the wide man

A DM or a ST will only cost too much is if we try to sign them at the wrong time.

I'm almost certain that someone like Lacazette would have only been around £15-18m in the summer, BEFORE he had his standout 1/2 season now. Similar to Costa when we could have got him for around £23m but ended up at Chelsea for £35m.

At least with the likes of Moreno, Can and Origi - we're signing talent at the right age. In Moreno and Can's case, they have come into the team and performed well, and will get better.

Markovic too, I know he was quite a lot but you can see there is something a bit different there that can be molded and worked on.

Feel we could have signed Markovic a bit sooner. Chelsea had him on their books before, and that's what we should be doing.

Markovic will be worldy though. <ok>

    well yes..

wrong player, or wrong time of contract, or just wrong value proposition.. I mean to say if william carvalho at 28mil was signed after somehow eluding all the decent sides and benzmea was signed for 40 I don't think anyone whining about price would be entertained one jot.

your point is that anyone with half a brain could see lacazette was going to be tops and as he was not signed his price has gone up so tking a risk is where its at.

Its also knowledge. With the best will ronald koeman is not a genius, no he just bought a player he knew from his old club in pelle... nothing more.

IF LFC are willing to gamble on origi thats were we went. we cannot really complain if we got one pleayer in we feel will grow and be very good and didn't get another.

Same with can as you say, someone spotted the talent and the value and made it happen. Morneo at 12mil too... can't complain abuot value, can complain about his defending...

My point is there has to come a time when everyone is 20-24 that you have got to have a spine to the team to lead the show and with gerrard going that cannot be glen bloody johnson. We have to sign someone for big money.

we are not chelsea though... we have to cut our cloth so 20mil for a player like markovic cannot be a punt. 4/5mil ok fine these days thats not so much.

sterling 5 years ago was 500k, newcastle today are snapping up ali for 4mil from mk dons. LFC must be able to complete on this level at least and see value on the resale.

I complained vocally about Lambert amidst loads of people shouting about how he's one of our own and a true red so we should def sign him.

Thought Lallana was extortionate but was ok with it since all transfers are massively inflated anyway.

Lovren is the one that got me. Was really happy about him arriving and the price. Had the wool pulled over all our eyes there people.

Inter's departing midfielder Yann M'Vila is a target for Torino, but his agent says the player only wants the Premier League.

The Frenchman joined the Nerazzurri last summer on a temporary deal from Ruben Kazan, but is on the lookout for a new club this month having struggled for space under Coach Roberto Mancini.

Torino have been linked with an interest in the player, but his agent Fabrizio Ferrari has dampened their enthusiasm.

“There hasn't been an official request, even though Inter and Torino talked about it when the lad was still with the Nerazzurri,” the agent told SportMediaset.

“I think Torino would be a fantastic destination, but he's got the Premier League in his mind now and I don't know if Torino are still interested.”

Given all the fuss about him a couple of windows ago, would anyone want him now? If Inter are letting him go but are interested in Lucas, that suggests he shouldn't be in our sights (and isn't, afaik).

Basically this. Wan't keen on Lambert, but worth a go for the money. Lallana - the problem was more the price than the player. Lovren - wasn't convinced when I saw him at the WC, but he seemed to coming off a decent season in the league. Oh well...
