So its sell him now for half a million or let him become a free agent at the end of the season if he goes out on loan. I think I know what the Norwich Board will want to do.

What would be a realisitc price for Cody then? £200k? If we have paid, £110k as suggested for Kedwell then Cody must be worth nearly double as being a tried and tested player in League 2

What I cannot understand is where the money has come from to buy our players. One minute we are talking of budget cuts and then we get rid of 10 players (none sold?) and yet, a few weeks later the club has splashed out and bought several players and yes, I did raise my eyebrows! My own view is that we have dipped into the money that we got for Simeon Jackson and the bonus payment for when Norwich got promoted. What with the club in debt and taking into consideration the current economic climate I am surprised that the Bank and other creditors have not asked for some of that money. It is in this respect that I take my hat off to Scally who has come up with the funds and for Hessy who has gone out and hopefully bought some quality players. It is now up to these players to do their bit to ensure that Gillingham are promoted this season. UTG

I agree, looks to be an exciting season ahead of us now. Codys price is expensive but goal scorers are stupidly expensive

I think you're right about dipping into some of the Jackson money, but also remember that the wages of 10 players out (some of whom would have been on L1 salaries) are set off against the wages of the incoming players, for whom hopefully we've negotiated L2 wages with an increase if promote. So it's quite probable that the overall wage bill will be less this season than last, and the club will still have been able to set off the remainder of the Jackson money against the overall debt.

Also weren't we due a bit of dosh from Wolves when Matt Jarvis got into the England squad?
