Just see WMS posts, I'll let you off without the apology. McClaren would be an Ashley-esque appointment and it has been widely reported in the national media in the last few hours, however it all depends on Derby failing to get promoted. I'd take McClaren to be honest but De Boer would have me in dreamland.
He did but Harper was a thoroughly decent keeper back then and you'd have been hard pressed to find anyone who thought we were going to go down. I still didn't believe it until we lost or drew, can't remember against Fulham in the final game when a referee did us.

I would spunk £3m from my £3bn easily to **** you all off, maybe even £30m or even £300m if you threatened my wife and kids? He's one ruthless mo fo, not to ne crossed

In fact i'd do it very slowly so you could see what was happening, then after torture with a waiting list i would kill you all

Thats if he's anything like me of course

Apology, what for ...... you were wrong.

You claimed that 'some of you would clearly like to think Ashley is trying to relegate us out of pure spite.'

WMS doesn't say that and, in any case, when does one poster become 'some of you' <laugh>

I'd already put my money on McClaren ....... but I'm sure you know best <ok>

I don't doubt it but that doesn't mean he's trying to relegate the club.

Why is de Boer suddenly thought of as top manager? (Aside the fact that Newcastle have been linked)

He won`t want the club relegated. He`s probably quite happy to stay 16th for ever and pocket £70m per year.

Managers are ambitious, top managers are very ambitions. They want to win things, competitions, trophies. Ashley doesn`t. Don`t see how he can attract one tbh.

Ashley knows that the slightest glimmer of hope will keep the ground full & the replica shirts being shifted.

Openly waving a white flag would take money out of his pocket, which is why he's there.

As well as the conveniently forgetting fact that they gave Ashley and his family death threats. No wonder he hates them.

Ashley is a very successful business man. When he bought the club he was conned over a small matter of hidden debt. There`s no way he`s going to let that lie. Walking away before he gets his money back would be a failure and not acceptable.

I`ve no idea how much the club still owe him but it`s going to get very interesting when it`s fully paid. The club is going nowhere and neither is he until it is.

He`s a horrible bastard and totally ruthless. If he gets it into his head it`s payback time for the fans he`s capable of anything.

2010/11 Blackpool went down with 39 points. At this same stage in the 10/11 season Blackpool had 28 points on the board.

Newcastle have the most under-qualified 'manager' in this league, a guy who seems void of leadership and any sort of tactical nous.

Ashley's playing roulette with Newcastle, make absolutely no mistake about that.

I think they'll stay up but it doesn't make any difference what I think.

Believe me Pops, despite what I say on here, I hate what Ashley is doing to football.

He's deliberately starving decent people of any kind of realistic chance of watching a true football team.

He shifts players around like stock in his tatty shops, it's a ****ing disgrace tbh.

Heaven knows what the likes of Perez & Cabella must be thinking when they've come to the PL to further their careers.

Now they're being given instructions by a man who looks & sounds like the groundsman.

Never mind, he has the spirit of Bobby Robson guiding him <doh>

Nothing would make me laugh more than for Carver to do just well enough to be handed the job permanently.

Was he ever interested in football, even at the beginning? I can`t remember whether he changed the fans or the fans changed him. It was all roses to start with.

It's the 'Ronald Koeman' effect, plain & simple.

I don't know his history mate, he seems to have been at Newcastle forever, probably coinciding with them being so poor for such a long time.

He made a huge song and dance about Cabella in the media before they played Southampton, so Southampton just cut off his supply line and made the kid absolutely redundant. He must be that ****ing stupid.

They were unlucky, vs Southampton, robbed by the ref in the end, but if they're gonna survive something tells me it'll be through sheer player ability rather than anything to do with him and his decisions, if anything, from what I see he'll be a hindrance.
