Problem is Gus is trying to play Rodwell as an attacking midfielder...this he is not

He is a box to box midfielder or as proven against a couple of teams a good defensive midfielder

Surely it made more sense to play Giacc or Alvarez in the cup game...

Very silly error by Gus imo

He actually replaced AJ with Bridcutt. Attacking Midfielder for a Defencive one. Then asked Rodwell to be something he's not with two attacking midfielders on the bench. At home, against a championship team. The mind boggles.

I agree, against a team in a lower division that essentially have a bunch of kids out...

Giacc or Alvarez would of seriously helped link up player between the midfield and the attack

However I dont think this is our biggest problem

There seems to be a serious lack of work ethic in the team, we countered on saturday and there was literally Rodwell and Defoe running up the pitch...the rest were simply strolling...

Di Canio clicked on instantly when he walked in, however he decided to shout his mouth off about it which was wrong

Bringing in stricter rules and harder training sessions to a point probably would of worked, but he went a bit power crazy

However surely JOS as captain should be, if not motivating, then telling the players to get forward and help out

Gus should also be seeing this and stopping it from happening

Personally would have some form of analyst in and any player to not run X amount of km's has to do extra training...not only this but the player who has ran least also has to have some form of forfeit at training (adds a element of banter to it too knowing the players can have a laugh)

Don't care about the armband, there's more than enough experienced seniors on the pitch for multiple players to be stepping up and stamping their influence.
