Sunday's Meetings Leopardstown N/H 7 Races 1:10-4:20 Sedgefield........ N/H 6 Races 1:25-4:05 Fontwell........... Abandoned Racecards At The Races Racing Post Sporting Life Good Luck
Happy 'Let's just see how freaking good this Un de Sceaux thing really is' Day 2015 Arkle winner in waiting. Champion Chaser next year.... No More Heroes- one of my 5 to follow and my Albert Bartlett antepost selection. Fingers crossed for Fly, but win lose or draw, we'll probably never see the like of him again. 21 Grade Ones, 2 Champion Hurdles. TRUE LEGEND!
No More Hereos probably be 5/2 if he wins tomorrow, Albert Bartlett looks just as bad as the Neptune. Martello Tower looks the value at 15/2 for the race tomorrow Not sure how much more they can cut Un De So, hes going to get a soft lead in a 3 horse race tomorrow, wont tell you anything about how he will do in the Arkle I dont think. Hes already priced up to be beating these two comfortably so really his price shouldnt go less than 7/4 but wont be surprised to see 5/4 with the crooks if he wins as comfortably as he should with this set up, if they get anywhere near him tomorrow id be worried about Cheltenham. Clarcam at 9/2 has to be the one if your betting but probably need Un De So to make a bad mistake.
All handicappers Boris that's all they are poor handicappers! Like I said midweek Clarcam is the value and with the weight allowance he ought to be going close, Smashing is no world beater and he was sticking with UDS for long way the last day, UDS still has to prove his credentials and this is his first proper test in my eyes, at 9/2 Clarcam is bet for me. Windsor Park 7/2 should give No More Heroes most to think about again receiving weight, like this lad a lot and if the ground is riding no worse than soft tomorrow he will run close.
Can I just say, as a moderator, that use of the word "freaking" is totally ****ing unacceptable on this site
To be expected Stick when 1 trainer has 90% of the Grade 1 horses in the country. And doesnt like running them against each other!
Lucky 63 Sedgefield 1.55 Fly Home Harry 3.00 Beatabout the Bush 3.35 Distime Leopardstown 1.40 Clarcam 2.45 Fly 3.15 Killultagh Vic And intrigued by the Bolger 4 yo entered in the Irish Champion. Readily disposed of a Mullins hotpot on his debut and I can't believe he'd allow it to be entered to be tailed off out the back. So Fiscal Focus Each way at 33s in case one of the top 2 fail to fire.
GILGAMBOA 11/4 As already mentioned above, with it being only a 3 horse race it's probably set up perfectly for UDS's running style but the price is fairly poor for a horse having its first run in Grade 1 company. Although UDS was impressive in beating easy subsequent winner Smashing last time, it wasn't the strongest beginners chase that Smashing followed up in. The form of GILGAMBOA however, was put to the test by Wounded Warrior (beaten 24+ lengths in 3rd) who beat another talking horse in Rule The World comfortably enough (9 lengths) last time out. Admittedly that was over further but solid enough form nonetheless with that win also coming in graded company. To sum up, UDS is a dog who has been well placed by connections to remain unbeaten (barring the fall when miles clear) throughout his career Let's see how he gets on in a battle - Clarcam for the F/C
I suspect UDS will always get an 'easy lead' lol If he smashes these 2 their entitled to cut him, as what's he going to meet in the Arkle better?! Josses Hill or Vibrato Valtat lol More Cheltenham winners will be seen tomorrow than at 'Trials day' today stick!
Gonna have a small bet on Fiscal Focus 40/1 in the big one at Leop. Dessie McDonagh might be a bit mad running him in this on just his 2nd start over hurdles as a 4 year but I really liked how he got the job done on his hurdling debut and Dessie knows a good one given that he trained Monksfield to win back to back Champion Hurdles back in the 70s. He's described Fiscal Focus as "different gravy" and, although I expect him to come up short, he might just surprise a few by putting in a big run so I'll have a small bet at 40/1
Timeform top 3 rated Jezki 170 (Adjusted 181) Hurricane Fly 168 (Adjusted 179) Fiscal Focus 149p (Adjusted 165p) Probably add a few pounds to HF as it's at a course where he is undefeated (I think). Taking account of the WFA it looks as though the top 2 have a stone in hand. FF has a p so it's a case of has he improved a stone since Boxing Day. Unlikely and as he is only 4yo he probably won't be tough enough against the seasoned top notchers. He will have to be very smart indeed to get close. Personal opinion; a very tough race and HF may just prevail on his favourite course. I think Jezki will finish in front of HF at Cheltenham in March though.
13:55 Sedgefield - Turtle Cask @ 9/2 (It's good old Sedgers for me, over umpteen county lines. The good old Irish lads are too freaking serious about their horseracing, frankly, at this verrrrry moment, I don't give a freaking rat's ass about runups to the Festival, because, it's 3 (oder 4?) x Frühschoppen pints I think. So, fellahs, and lods and lods of vinners! Think I'll take a nap).
1:10 Leopardstown - Utmost Zeal 7/1 1:55 Sedgefield - Funky Munky 8/1 2:10 Leopardstown - Rafi De Triana 9/1
