I wouldn't think that there's an actual line in a book at all he's 8 in February and has a crazy imagination I laughed at it, don't know what the lad did or said but he's round our house a lot and wouldn't have been insulted. I was more annoyed with he comment to my wife, no matter what the correct term is now it'll be different in a few months, weeks or even days. Even the now PC term "black" has a history and has been used in racist terms, I'm very much of the opinion that it's how any term is used more than the word itself. The person who had a go at my wife is an idiot imo.
You hit the nail on the head. At the end of the day that is the key thing in this complex issue. The feeling behind it and the intention of the Individual saying it: if a person uses the word, any word, in ignorance or innocently then with a bit of explanation it could be sorted. If there is confrontation and the individual says it to hurt: black so and so, then it is clearly a racist comment. It is not rocket science.
when that Paris siege thing was happening a few weeks ago the cnn reporter was corrected by the "terrorism expert" Cnn : the hostage taker is amedy coulibaly an african american man Expert: eh , hes not american cnn: the gunman is just african ? expert: no hes french , just of African descent. ****ing hell its pc gone mad . They should have just said hes the black fella in the pictures being shown and be done with it.
The thing with racism is that it now brings out a bunch of clueless tw@s who want to make something out of nothing because they want to be seen as 'fighting' racism. They fear by saying nothing, it means they will be viewed as spineless. It's rdiculous.
I don't know if any respondents so far are black, it would be interesting to get a black person's view while we're all pontificating from our cosy white side!
Fair enough I'm sure as a good parent you've taught yours to respect themselves and others and as you aren't racist, then there's little chance your children will be. Racism is learned it isn't innate.
Not sure what you're getting at there, with him being 8 I don't really talk to him about subjects like this he's more into Adventure Time and The Amazing World Of Gumball.
Tbf gonz even kids as young as 8 can pick up racism from the parent/parents. please log in to view this image
Many chavs have tried to say that was photoshopped Forgetting Chelsea are well known for their core of "friendly" hardcore hooli.. I mean, "supporters"
There are actually very few true racists. I've only ever met one, met plenty of part time racists, the ones who like to blame other ethnicities for their problems. England's media and politicians are currently fighting for their share of part time racists, like UKIP and the Tories are atm. "They took our jobs" The British media fuel racism without atually printing racism, demonisation. Now if you can't get a job, get a spot in a shool or severe weather, immigrants are blamed, sorry, brown skinned immigrants are blamed, no one blames the white immigrants. Such widespread ignorance that may be called racism, is usually born of Empire. Look at the Anglo Christian states, all of em are institutionally racist. US UK Canada Australia New Zealand, add in Israel. Reagan was an epic racist. Bush is. Churchill was, Prince Philip is so ****ing racist but the establishment portray it as the funny old geezer, he was racist long before he got old. One might ask where is the rampant institutional racism in African countries, does it exist? cos we seldom if ever hear about it. Mostly the issue with whitey they have is, whitey's racism.
Nah, it's just from a time when racism was not such a hot social topic. Movies don't turn people racist matey. Ignorance, a poor education and racist environment can turn people racist.
Or first black head of the Church of England, first black police commissioner, first black BBC CEO. The British establishment is very stubborn.
You don't even live here, so how can you make that assertion? If you actually did, then you'd realise that it's simply not the case. The Eastern European migration has had the Mail et al in a headspin for years. Not the economic migrants but those actively seeking to take adavantage of our soft touch system. Britain is imo very accepting of multi culturalism in the main. People generally only take issue with none European migrants when they don't integrate or are seeking to either preach their own race hate and try to enforce their own culture on our society.
