By no means a confident punt but I shall be having a little e/w tickle on Colin Tizzard's Thistlecrack in the 3.00 Cheltenham. I've been impressed by him thus far and Tizzard put him up as one of 3 to follow from his yard this season. At 20/1 in a field of 9 I think he is worth chancing a small e/w dabble.

Give over odddy...this Saturday is all about the beast that is VALUE AT RISK. Just make sure he is in your Festival portfolio before 3:30.

Mouthwatering stuff tomorrow, taster for March!

I finally got round to watching Peace & Co's debut and was very impressed with his hurdling, the horses in behind unfortunately havent done much but visually you couldnt be more impressed. Odds tomorrow are far too skinny so my each way punt goes to Ibis Du Rheu, Saphir's half brother. I found this article about him and the other Triumph hopes via twitter, VERY interesting read - https://fourmileracing.wordpress.com/2015/01/19/triumph-hurdle-preview-ibis-du-rheulac-leman/

Horatio Hornblower in the Timeform novices chase was thrown in at the deep end against top novices and was then dropped in class to win easily on his 3rd start. He jumps well and is unexposed and has the wonderful Lizzie Kelly taking off 7lbs again which has proved very successful.

Dynaste has to give 8lbs away to Smad Place which could be a tough task as the RSA form of last year looks very good however he is 1 of the most consistent horses in training and apart from his King George Run last year(which he was found to be injured) you cant fault him at all. Excellent jumper and should be a class above all of these.

Value At Risk could have won by as much as he liked on hurdle debut and should hose up here. At a bigger price Robinsfirth could be an EW shout as the form behind Thomas Brown looks decent.

Im a huge fan of Saphir Du Rheu and slightly disappointed they arent sticking to the chase route for this season, however his form over hurdles last season was excellent. He gave stacks of weight to Whisper and beat him by a head in the Welsh Champion who then went on to win the Coral Cup and a grade 1 at aintree. He needs to prove he stays 3 miles but he has always gave the impression the step up will suit.

Elsewhere i would expect Three Kingdoms to give the Vibrato Valtat form a boost up against Solar Impulse and Blaklion is back over the ideal 3 miles but expect a R4 as Present view is likely to be at Cheltenham.

Over the last month or so, especially Saturdays it seems the likes of Paul Nicholls and Noël Fehily have been in the winners enclosure more often and not and I think today will be no different. However I'm looking to see why Noel is on BIVOUAC in the opener at Chelts and then goes all the way to Doncaster to ride GRANDADS HORSE in the 3.15. Singles and E/W double for me. Can the man in the know MR Stick shed any light on this and the chances of Grandads Horse?

All I can tell you Mick is that he is the trainers favourite horse in the whole yard (hope JP isn't reading this) and that he just keeps on surprising them. CL has always thought him to be a good ground horse but he is anything but that. Certainly has his chunk of weight but a horse that you just cant get to the bottom of. Sure to run a big race and good to see the yard have a winner today!

I hope so ste, decision day tomorrow depending on what he does so lets hope he hits the front between the last two and powers clear up the hill. Good to see that the horse is getting a bit of a 606 fan club!

Off to Cheltenham tomorrow and can see a few jollies winning, with Peace And Co, Dynaste, Saphir and Value At Risk looking ones to be with. I'm tempted by the Wylie horse at Donny with Ruby taking the ride and I like Royal Irish Hussar in the lucky last

First post on the new site! Very well done Ron for a seamless transition.

All about Value at Risk tomorrow. Very very much in Sticks camp on this!!! Read into that what you will!

Classic case of a bridge too far for me for Grandads. Wouldn't read too much into Noel riding, other bookings not declared, Charlie D is almost the yard first string now given Noels priorities. A new claimer is top of their shopping list to go with a new stable jock (ahem Daryl Jacobs).

Looking forward to the last at Chelters. Lightentertainment and Beau lake to see where Harry is. LE might run a big race if they go a decent clip which im sure they will. He will be held up, travel smoothly, jump neat and swoop late on. Step back not ideal but hill and quick pace might help. Beau lake wont get close, fontwell speciali, too high and will stop half way up the hill (literally) so a big place lay.

No comp tomorrow chaps ... been out most of today and will be out most of tomorrow too (try to hide your disappointment please!)

Value At Risk was stunning LTO and will probably win easily, but I'm with Oddy about Thistlecrack. He too was visually impressive LTO, and although the favourite holds all the aces, I think that 20-1 in a 9 runner field, about a horse with bags of potential is too good to pass up.

    Good luck lads <ok>
