I have sid that Bamba will be used going forward for corners and free kicks he will un settle defences because he is a strong very powerful lad.We have needed someone like him since Matt Smith left as of now we have still not scored a headed goal this needs addressing and Bamba will or should do this IMO Pearce will be sold Wootton maybe kept as he can play fulback as well Norris and Austin maybe on the move with the other new signing
I for one hope Austin gets a new contract. Sure, he blows hot & cold, but boy, he was absolutely awesome on Tuesday night.
I disagree. Ask yourself what cover we have at CB & see if you still think we don't need Bamba. We have Cooper as 1st choice, Bellusci as 2nd choice (now suspended & possibly facing 2 more suspensions in the near future). 3rd choice? Hmmm. We have Wooton & Del Fabro, neither of whom are proven in the Championship, then we have Pearce, who is indeed proven in the Championship - proven to be a fekken liability, that is. Bamba has apparently done it all before, but is lacking a bit of match fitness. I don't know the player myself, but it seems he can do a job for us. A better gamble than our other possibles it seems. As for your statement re CMs, how many of them are dedicated DMs? Not one of them has called the position his own this season, so that alone shows that we have a gap for a proven DM. Is this the man for the job? I dunno.Don't know this guy either. Bottom line? We do indeed need signings in these positions - just unable to say if these are the men to fill the gaps as I don't know much about them myself.
Unfortunately I disagree with you here... Wooton can right centre back and he can do a good job! Pearce is also capable! Del Fabro who knows but he's not an under 21's international for no reason... As for DM... Cook plays that role... And I can bet he's far better than this lad we're bringing in. Also neither of the formations we have been playing suite an out and out DM.... In the 4231 you have 2 centre mids obviously 1 of which will sit deeper but like I've said Cook is perfect for that. All a matter of opinion anyways! You can't dispute the fact we need a left midfielder though..
Sorry Jonny, but Wooton is purely a defensive RB who works under direction. He's not a natural, and he's not attack minded. I agree that he MIGHT do a good job, but most certainly not that he CAN. He's completely untested, so it's just guesswork. The fact that he manager wants to get rid of him tells you that there is doubt. Pearce is absolutely not capable. I don't really want to waste my time arguing this again, but someone who's lost his captaincy & berth to a kid must be doing something wrong. In his case, he's doing a lot wrong. Since his demise, the defence has tightened up enormously, so much so that we as supporters can be more confident of a chance of a result these days. It was always a question of 'how many' when he played. Del Fabro showed promise against the Maccems, however one swallow does not a summer make! One for the future. He's not a good partner for Cooper yet, as Cooper is still learning the game from Bellusci as we speak. DM - Cook is not a DM. So says Redders. (I actually compare him to Paul Scholes. Just needs to be a little bit more nasty). Anyway, let's say you were right, then he gets injured. Who takes his place? If this guy is any good, I'd welcome him in with open arms.
Bellusci and Cooper would be my pairing and I will go as far to say we haven't had a better pairing in the last 10 years possibly longer, I would be quite happy to have Wootton and Fabro as the back-ups and while I agree Pearce seems to have lost his way I can only assume Bamba is a cheaper replacement and that is only cheaper if we have a buyer lined up for Pearce? If we keep Pearce then the signing of Bamba is even more questionable, Bamba has only played one match so will be totally unfit so I can't see why we have brought him in on loan at this stage of the season and why we didn't wait until the end of the season if it was a signing we really wanted? Again these are my thoughts IF we keep Pearce however if he is sold before the deadline then I guess all is explained. As for the possible signing of Ngoyi that sounds a very promising player, if we can get Sloth and Ngoyi playing to their full potential and at their best as well as hold on to Cook that will be some midfield to build around.
I can sort of see the logic with the Bamba signing. He's got experience and he's played in his division before. I don't see Wooton or Pearce being around in August. I think the only reason the Wooton to Rotherham move was blocked was because Celino was covering his back. With Villa, Liverpool and the Scum circling round Cook it's only a matter of time he'll be making his Premier League debut. I think in the long run we might need Ngoyi especially if Mowatt is on the radar of another club
We always felt Bamba's best position was a defensive midfielder because it allowed him to play his natural game without worrying about ****ing up as much. He is a bit like David Luiz where you don't quite feel comfortable with him at centre half
Lets hope bamba is good as i am abit worried about him being 30 years old , what happened to signing a 25 year old hope he has got speed and strength as championship can be hard and demanding. i thought leeds were banned from getting loan players also ? cellino must have found a way round it .
not too bothered about pearce being sold as he regulary ****ed up ! and lost leeds lots of points , lets hope we sell pearce to a club we still have to play this season then we should waltz past him and score and win
Good point sniffer, we'd know who to target, especially in penalty area as he likes to hold onto players....
Almost spot on 60. This guy is some unit. He will be a great partner for Cooper in our defence, & scare opposition defenders sh&tless for set pieces. Can't see Austin going anywhere because he's good going forward & not too shabby coming back to elp the defence. All he needs is to learn to play for the team, rather than keep shooting when he has little chance of scoring
With the Cani signing imminent we should have at least 2 players who will cause mayhem at corners and free kicks. We have in my opinion sorted out a major problem that we have had all season someone who can score goals with their head!
