Me and my dad gave up our tickets a few seasons ago because we sort of knew what was going on, my auntie was Llambias` PA a few seasons ago. So we sort of had the inside info, so to speak. and everything that has gone on since then has done nothing to make us change our minds about this club under Ashley. No protest or anything the fans do or have will change this man from changing course. FACT.. The only thing that may concern them, and this is what i heard from my aunt, is if the attendances start going down drastically. They do not care what is spoken, written or broadcast on any media format about the club. If fans stop going to games in numbers then that is a different. I know the argument about ignoring the heirachy problems and just supporting the players and the team. But that is a load of bollocks. Do any of you seriously think that any of the players give a thought to the fans, apart from paying lip service to them in post match defeat interviews. the modern footballer does not give a **** about the fans. FACT
Lets try a few weeks of not attending home games please!!!!! There is nowt worth seeing anyway...

I would rather we played in the Championship again than have this T**T in charge for another 5 years.

FFS Stop going to the games!!!!! Nothing will change until you do so..

If you stop going, .. he will sell up and bugger off up north

Stop ****ing moaning about how **** the club is run unless you are brave enough to do something about it.

I did and feel better for it.!!

Get off you arse, leave your ****e seat, and see what happens..

If you are not prepared to do something drastic about then stop whining about it.

The fans are contributing to the fat **** staying here!!!!!

I hate writing this sort of thing but sometimes i just get so ****ing annoyed i can help it. Someone has to say this sort of ****, and i can take the flak when it comes. But try aiming the guns at the arseholes in charge of the club and be proactive,.... STOP GOING TO GAMES!!!!!!!!!

An en masse exodus would force his hand. But this is never going to get universal support from the fans. The pitiful half hearted protests are just embarrassing. What is it you actually want?

So two things. First, the only thing that will stop people going to games is true apathy. "We" are not organised enough to do anything other than wait, by which point Ashley may have already left. For every 50,000 you or someone else manages to convince to stop going, there's another 50,000 waiting who don't mind.

Second, I don't even think they are bothered by dwindling attendances. There is a nominal impact on club revenues of people not going, which could be offset by selling just one extra player. The club, most of us understand, is a billboard for Sports Direct that reaches an audience of 1bn. The only thing that matters is NUFC being in the Premier League. Attendances of 30,000 are unlikely to affect it short term.

We all, to a man, would like to do something about the situation. I just don't think your above notion is correct, nor do I even think there is a solution. Mike Ashley is worth £5bn, It's unlikely he got to that level of wealth through not being smarter than most of us. He has an utterly captive audience.

I want a quarter full stadium for the rest of year. It will make no difference to how the team plays anyway, most of them do not give monkeys about us anyway. All they want is the money and cars etc that goes with the job.

Any realistic decline to around average of 30,000 would take well over a decade of apathy imo.

But we have to start somewhere with something that is more visible than standing outside the ground before or after matches. I have yet to meet or talk to a supporter who is happy with what is going on. ****ing stop going to games, it will have an effect!!! Lets get relegated. it will have an effect!! I am sick of the whole club and how it is run. I dont care anymore, 99% of fans feel the same. None of us care anymore, even the maniacal fans are past the point of giving a **** anymore. Drastic situations require drastic measures!! STOP GOING TO GAMES FFS!!!!!!

I think this might be right. Seriously.

We are talking about a source of entertainment. While we aren't thrilled about the product at the moment, most of us still derive enjoyment from that source of entertainment. You don't and so have stopped attending. Fair enough.

At the end of the day, though, entertainment (or lack thereof) is all it is.

    Huge meltdown.

Would you rather be a supporter of Aston Villa, Sunderland, Forest, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday etc. We're a few years ahead of Sunderland and Villa and they've not been relegated within the last 5 years.

If you look short term we're currently ahead of Everton and they spent 28m in the summer. It doesn't matter how much you spend, it's what you spend it on that counts.

It's a very slow build at the moment, sometimes it's certainly one step forward and two back but since we've been back up we've been involved in one relegation battle. Sunderland and Villa have been down there for 3-4 years on the bounce, Swansea, Everton, Southampton are all similar to us, all capable of a good season if injury free.

We're trying to do something similar to Southampton but they were 5 years ahead of us on the youth side of things. This year we've had Dummett, Armstrong, Aarons and Abeid come through. If next year we can add Roberts, Lascelles, Darlow and one other to that then in the space of 2 years we'd have 8 good youngsters all capable of first team football.

I'm far from thrilled about the rest of the season but I'm also far from suicidal. For the first time in a while I actually think there is a plan, I mean when was the last time we spent 6 million on two players just to loan them immediately out with no recall option.

The problem for me is that as long as I watch football I will love NUFC. To give up on NUFC is to give up on football, and that's something I can't see happening.

I'm in my 3rd year of having a season ticket, so quite new to this compared to some. I have been disgusted at some of the performances we've served up over the last couple of seasons but I enjoy going to the games, having a few pints and getting away from it all, as do thousands of others I'd expect.

We are 1 of 20 clubs in this league, and one of around 14 which will finish somewhere between 17th and 3rd with no trophy, no European football next season and no players on silly wages. If we say we are just 'existing', then we need to say the same about several other clubs. Our strength as fans has always been a packed stadium despite what's going on on the pitch. Yes we have the right to feel aggrieved at the apparent lack of ambition, but where do you ACTUALLY expect this club to be? Challenging for titles? Challenging for the top 4? Gone are those days my friend - at least for the foreseeable.

No point in trying to convince others to stay away, you've voted with your feet - fair enough. There will always be thousands willing to go.

    How refreshing.

Yes it's annoying to think the season is over with nothing to play for but a top-half finish, but I think there is a plan. Probably the first sensible post I've seen in weeks, not riddled with pessimism. It gets very boring after a while.

Whilst true that it is important what you spend your money on, it is also true there is a general correlation by what a club spends and where they finish in the league. To be fair though it largely applies to the top 4 more. There are anomalies like ourselves and Everton. Or the other end like QPR. Spurs would probably show a healthy situ now after Bale. I know they went and spent a fair bit but still, that was a lot of money. I think there is a plan, however I do think it is largely about making money rather than any real progress as a football team.

Southampton are nothing like us mind - they are light years ahead. They are properly progressive club. They could be set for a spell hovering around the top 8 with the strategies they have in place. Martinez has ****ed up Everton a bit, they can't defend.

I do think this is a proper meltdown thread though, and this has been badly needed for a while now. Well done Lord Warwick. There is nothing quite like a meltdown.

I disagree with the lot of you. Done the same as Lord Warwick, and whole heartedly agree with his sentiments. If you're going to go, shut the **** up about the situation. Personally I think the people actually bothered about trying to make a difference, like Warwick and I, should also shut the **** up after this. Why? Because quite honestly NUFC, like every other team, is followed by mindless sheep, as exhibited by the sentiments "oh but I like having a pint and watching **** football, oh and if I never went someone else would so it's pointless" bla bla bla. It's game over with that sentiment, they've won. It's like arguing with someone about religion, you can point out every facet or every angle, and they'll still argue on regardless. I just got to watch on from home, saving myself hundreds of pounds and with the ability to switch channels when we play ****e for the billionth time.

This is not ****ing entertainment, it hasn't been entertainment for a few seasons now, so stop with the excuses lads <ok>

Fact is, it would effect Ashley if no ****er turned up. It would. What's more with **** all to play for, we are in prime position for mass action. But you soppy ****ers won't, so let's move on, because I'm sick of talking about it <laugh>
