Would of rather listened to a Michael Owen Audio Tape of 'The Life of Michael Owen' than re-watch that game

West Brom, 0 shots on target, 1 corner, 1/3rd possession ........ result, the media licking Pulis's ringpiece <doh>

    same with our game

a stupid stupid mistake meant they scored otherwise it'd be 0-0 in both of pulis games

pulis is the ****ing pope to the media

11 men behind the ball, defend in a line, only go forward at certain points, is pulis game, get a 1-0 win and bang..

West Ham for me - they were awful against us - so one dimensional and everyone was singing their praises - without a deflection they would never have scored!

Edit: Everton a close second though!

Everton fans must've thought they were on to a right winner when Martinez signed Lukaku on a permanent deal, ignoring their defence, as he always does. The guy can set up a ****ing brilliant attacking side, give him that, he'd be up there with Pep's reputation if he managed Barca when Pep did, but he hasn't a clue how to organise a defence.

I wonder if the WBA buses stayed intact last night, leaving Skip City.

Martinez always gets found out - if his attacking players are firing then h]is teams are great to watch - there are always goals - Every top manager sets a team up from the back moving forward. Get the defence sorted first then move onto the attack. If you don't concede you don't lose. Pulis tactics lkast night were awful against a team who are no more than a point or 2 ahead of them - no interest in winning the game - we got slated by the press for doing that against CHELSEA! Not Everton!! Yet the press are praising Pulis for this masterclass! I hope they go down!

Hate to say this but this is the way to play away from home, I also think we will be in for a few games like this at the SOL. We play a host of teams around us from now on, at home (fixture list scandal) and these teams will see a draw as a great result. Sandwiched between visits to the big guns away we will need to win our home games and our home crowd are not much better than Evertons tbh. This is a real concern of mine and the pressure could build. We need to be prepared to change formations to suit these twin threats. Gus has a decent squad at his disposal and with no depletions by injury, to key players we should be OK, but it is going to be tight. The recent signs are, that we are looking to play more than just the standard 4 1 4 1 we have had to endure from Gus up till now, and we need to approach our home games with a new vigour, possibly 3 2 3 2 taking the game to the weaker teams and getting the crowd onside early doors, no sitting back as in recent home games .
Play 4 5 1 or similar away from home and hope for the odd draw or even a surprise win, good substitutions are a key here (Spurs was not a good omen, putting on two strikers at 1-1 was stupid imo). Our fixture lists are so imbalanced we have to treat it like two separate campaigns for this is what we face second half. Onwards and upwards.

It's not who plays how that bothers me, it's the way they applaud Pulis as a tactical genius on Sky when he's just contrived to waste 2 hours of their time.

No shots, corners or entertainment doesn't deserve all this arse licking.

We started with 2 strikers though clockstander - he didn't change anything he left it as was and it was working - it was only due to a large slice of luck and a great finish that it ended 2-1 to them - if not for the luck it would've been a draw (and if we'd got the penalty on Defoe who knows!)

Not sure about you lads, majority of you will of seen far more football than me

However, I agree with the kitchen sink tactics, especially of Ferguson

Score one? score another! Score two? get another!

At the end of the day theres been a few times in the past, not just under poyet where we have scored and then sat back and went to counter attacking tactics...

If the tactics you were using just got you a goal, keep using them! decimate teams!

Far too many defensive minded managers now scared of using attacking tactics incase they **** up in my opinion

As a fan though, if i could see that the team was attacking and making a go of it then i dont think id mind getting beat instead of trying to defend for their lives like Pulis' teams

would rather have a go and get beat by a few goals than try to park the bus and be beat by one

It was working, until the substitutions, and we lost 2-1 in the last few minutes, we were so close to a good result 1-1 at Spurs and we piled forward going for glory. It is just about opinion and I accept this is just one way of looking at it, but Gus does not make game changing substitutions, always going "like for like", as though it was some kind of inflexable blue print. I hope he changes tack now that he has more options, we will see.
