I find the fact that some have only just discovered grass roots football to be very depressing. I also find it quite baffling how they compare an owner of a team like this damned united shaking hands, and giving away free passes to the owner of any club in any professional league. If this outfit only plan to stay amateur and stay out of the leagues, good luck to them, otherwise they're the enemy.
Don't you find it an interesting subject then? You could have added positive thoughts rather than negative ones and still kept it interesting.

Bit of googling and Brunswick folded in 73. Joined Yorkshire League in 61 but probably was around before that. Sold for housing. Gerry went to Blackpool from them, just to correct Tubby, not Preston

Yeah, I stand corrected. It was 40 odd years ago! I misread the original post and thought the question was when did they fold up. I remember watching a game at the ground in the late 60's when I recall Brunswick were a couple of rounds away from the FA Cup1st Rd. I used to pass the ground daily in 72/73 and I think it was up for sale then. Used to watch Gerry Ingram on a Sunday morning playing for Victoria on Princes Elizabeth Playing Fields on North Hull (I lived across the road) Don't remember watching him on a Saturday playing for Brunswick because they clashed with City. Victoria probably became Lord Nelson in later years and Gerrys brother used to run them. Victoria got quite a crowd to watch Gerry on a Sunday morning. He did join Preston from Blackpool which is were I am getting mixed up.
Didn't say it was, but I can see why you think that. I should have started that line with a new paragraph, sorry. I would say that the reasons for losing 3,000 season ticket holders are people who bought the season tickets to guarantee seeing premier league teams other than Hull City and thought tickets may sell out long standing supporters who didn't like being evicted from E1 to E3 supporters who couldn't afford the price hike, either because of unemployment, low wages, other responsibilities supporters that have fallen out of love with Hull City for a variety of reasons, including the name change I may have missed some but I think that covers the majority of reasons.
3,000 people didn't renew their season ticket sales, but 2,500 season tickets were sold to people who didn't have one last season, so pass sales are only actually down by 500. The problem comes if we get relegated and end up losing all 5,500 of them.
Wether we stay up or not, I'm still undecided on renewing my pass. Especially if Admiral Akbar raises the cost of the passes (it already costs me in the region of £50/game just to be in Hull) I feel it might just push me to breaking point. Some games it feels like I make more effort getting to games than some of those ****ers do in the 90 minutes. And they're getting paid for it!!!!
