    Champions Weekend
    over after just one year

    By Peter Scargill 2:58PM 19 JAN 2015
THE triumphant end to the British turf season has been dismantled after just one year with Champions Weekend no more following a number of changes announced on Monday.

Dubai Future Champions Day, which was moved to the Friday before Qipco British Champions Day last year, will be moved to the Saturday before the Ascot meeting this year while the Middle Park Stakes has a new home on September 26, two weeks before the Dewhuest Stakes on October 10.

Quite happy to chance Midnight Sapphire at 7/1 in the 3.50 at Exeter. Big step up in trip on handicap debut after looking like a test would do her good. Trainer and jockey combo do quite well at Exeter. Smaller field than expected may be hindrance rather than a help but at the price i'm happy to take a chance.

Also backed the Nicholls runner in the finale for no other reason than my brother is called Alistair and 6/1 seemed fair for a Nicholls runner at Exeter.

Grissom is priced at 150/1 for the finale at Exeter, trained by Jmmy Frost, small E.W. bet. but surely it'll be tailed off. Best Mate's half brother Nitrogen should win.
