It'll be ironic if he takes us down and Bournemouth replace us, perhaps he'll work the curse onto them instead...
I still don't understand why Zarate can't get any game time. Must we wait until he has no enthusiasm or desire left?
In his reply about a Tarbs question he said he didn't want to disturb a winning formula at home. I thought bringing on Nik and Tarbs was a little strange though as you probably needed two players with a little bit more diverse skills. In that sense Zarate may have been the option indeed.
I actually think we have a better squad than many. That is the point. Player to player - we do not have a terrible side. They need management / tactics / motivation.
There's a lot of posts suggesting we keep Redknapp and plan for an inevitable relegation. Why not do something now (even if we have to pay compensation to another club for removing their manager)? If anyone suggests that Redknapp can drag out of this then fair enough but being content with a status quo of limping towards relegation is quite shocking.
Dump Redknapp now, make an appointment either from within the club or externally on a contract until the end of this season. Then reassess accordingly. If we are going to compensate someone and pay a massive salary offer a 4 year contract or whatever, terminated if we are relegated. The only point of a change is to stay up (and improve morale I'd guess) don't want us to be stuck with someone who does not deliver like we were with Redknapp. If we are relegated, take stock of the financial (and possibly ownership change) situation and set some more realistic targets for the future, appoint someone long term to deliver a plan. The owners have created a club and culture where everything depends on staying in the premiership. Unsustainable.
You are right of course. I'd have it as either a proven manager (high salary I'd imagine) with a relegation release clause or guaranteed extension if we survive (a year but no more than two) or an unproven, long term manager that we do back because we believe in them (lower salary) and they'll be the right choice whichever division we're in. At this point though, we absolutely need a change to improve our chance of survival. I'd even rate Cubishley or Megson as better horses to back (eek!!!).
Different reasons though I think. It's tempting to say stick with Redknapp so his humiliation at the end of the season is complete. But that's another five months of his stupid face and pathetic excuses.
I no longer listen to him and if by accident he is on the media ... I shake my head violently... Yes a bit like Klunk
It's hard to make comparisons. Harry has achieved a lot in his career and it is easier to find things to criticise in a long rather than short career. In 2010 who would have thought in 2012 we would he in the EPL and Harry Redknapp as manager? He took us to Wembley and a win. Yes it was tough but where are Wigan and Reading? We can't compare to Sam and West Ham as they were pretty established when they went down and still needed the play offs. We did finish fourth but are holding our own still with teams
Surely things can only go one way............better? Stick with Harry and we will go down imo. Get rid and we may still go down......but we may stay up!
