It's being rumoured on twitter that Luke Freeman has allegedly spat at a Scunthorpe fan after the game.... Quite a few Scunny fans are claiming they saw the incident. Hope it isn't true as it's very poor from Freeman and could result in a fine and a few games ban. Can't imagine Cotterill will be too happy either!

If true then totally unforgivable. Should be sacked immediately if we're following the Ched Evans model

    I hope it's not the case !

Sacking him is a bit much, and to compare him to someone who has been in prison for raping a woman again is a bit much <laugh>

If true, that would be disappointing but let's hear this from some reliable sources first. A bunch of disgruntled Scunny fans hiding behind social media is not exactly reliable unless they have video footage to prove it.

I think I've read pretty much everything on a football forum now, comparing an alleged spitting incident with a convicted rapist...

Cant condone this sort of thing, but he has denied it and that's good enough for me, unless there is evidence to the contrary and if so he must be punished though I agree drumming him out of the club is a bit extreme

What I meant was that players are supposed to be role models and spitting at anyone brings the game and our club into disrepute and tarnishes our image. Think back to other unsavoury episodes like Cantona's Kung Fu incident at Palace. He should have been sacked for that and banned for life. Everything like this is unforgivable in these times, no matter what the provocation

Of course there is no direct comparison to rape but some strong action will need to be taken by City if it's true

I really hope it isn't the case

I feel reasonably sure that Luke Freeman doesn't seem the sort of kid to deliberately aim spit at someone. he may have spat, he may have been angry at a comment maybe and spat at the floor in their direction! I don't believe he spat directly at someone!

Seems another case of false outrage by needy hypocritical 'football fans' who expect to verbally throw horrible bile at an opposition player but run to the nearest authority if they get a bit back.! I hate people like that and the world is filling up with them.

Well sad, there's also a very good chance Freeman was giving abuse/banter back and a little flem came out when he was talking.

Without proper evidence (which there won't be) Freeman is pretty much innocent.. whilst their players are purposely kicking balls at our players heads..

Agreed - their #12 was an idiot. Very, very poor sportsmanship. Credit to Smith for not getting provoked at the end.
