I worry for Hull FC fans because in my experience the average football fan is slightly more intelligent then the average rugby fan and look at the queues we had at the KC when the unmanned turnstiles were first introduced.
Just listened to Gwilym Lloyd and FC vice president Pete Smurthwaite discussing this on RH. Lloyd and Pearson claim that rugby league fans are totally different to football fans in that they decide on the day of the game if they are going to attend or not. A lot depends on the weather apparently. What's that song again and Fc car sticker? In any kind of weather???? All the reasons given by these two apply exactly the same to football fans. Yes, some people do wake up on matchday morning and maybe decide to go to a game, why is it so different for RL fans? Top and bottom of all this is that the attendance figures can no longer be manipulated. Everyone pays.
'in any kid of weather' (except for when the weathers not great, the games on Sky, or you have to buy a ticket in advance) ****ing rugby fans.
I see the narrow minded begrudging attitude to ANYTHING That's not Hull Tigers continues. Good old Hull folk ehh
Don't the SMC provide the ticket office and turnstile staff rather than either of the clubs? Unless you're suggesting the SMC thinks its own staff have been lowering the attendances to cost it money I don't see how it would work.
I have no problem with Hull and actually wish them well. But I can understand people who do. You only have to go look at there board to see the bitterness and jealously when City are successful and genuinely hoping City fail When City got relagated some FC fans on there actually celebrated.
To be fair, if FC or KR went bust I would have a huge grin on my face for weeks. If both went bust, I would probably dance everywhere for a week. I would celebrate like a huge chunk of their fans would if Liverpool won the FA Cup or if TWS got promoted. I would celebrate loudly and proudly. The reason FC fans can rock up to the stadium after deciding on the day is because 3/4 of the ****ing stadium is empty for them. Thats simply not the case for Hull City. They've been allowed to take the piss and taken huge advantage of the whole KC thing right from before with debts being cleared, thanks in most to the ****ing HCC. Its time they paid their dues and if they can't afford it, they can **** off.
I don't doubt some of you know rugby fans who despise us, but iv'e met loads that wish us well,as i do them. Iv'e said it before, when FC play i hope they win, when Rervers play i hope they win, when they play a derby, i don't care. I want anything from Hull to be successful.
Timmy, you should've written "1" as "one"; you've also got a superfluous comma in there too!! We'll thrash this out over a pint!
Sometimes, yeah. Depends if I've had my girls the night before or if I'm going for them straight after the game. Next time will probably be after the Newcastle game. You gonna be there?
Completely agree, I also know a great many FC or KR fans who are also City fans Maybe some of the angst is because a lot of FC fans are also Leeds United fans, rather than simply hating City as a football team
