I've just received this email from Ian Taylor and he has asked for it to be posted on QPR fans forums ...... Ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United at Loftus Road, the club has received various enquiries via social media regarding our official ticketing partnership with Viagogo. QPR’s agreement is very different to other Viagogo marketplaces. Viagogo provide a service for our Season Ticket holders, providing them with a platform to re-sell their seat. The price is set by our Season Ticket holders, not Viagogo. Ticket purchasers must agree to the following Viagogo-specific T & C’s: • All tickets are subject to booking fee • You must be a QPR supporter to purchase these tickets • Viagogo reserve the right to cancel orders from buyers suspected to be fans of the opposition • You must be a junior / young adult / senior citizen to be eligible to purchase the relevant concession ticket Preventing away supporters sitting in home areas is a challenge for most football clubs, but from an operations perspective the club has stringent processes in place yet we accept that occasionally the processes can be breached. All ticket holders are monitored on entry to the ground and those displaying away colours, or identified as away fans, will be refused admittance. Any intelligence passed on to the club regarding away fans in home areas will be acted upon immediately. In addition, the QPR Box Office do stringent checks with our opposing clubs databases throughout the season and are in constant dialogue with the Operations department on a matchday regarding this issue. As per any home match at Loftus Road, if you experience any adverse behaviour in the stadium please contact your nearest steward, or if you prefer send details of the issue as well as seating information by SMS to the club’s matchday control room number 07557435421. Please note that all messages sent to this number are treated as confidential. Thank you for your continued support. Ian Taylor Head of Media & Communications Queens Park Rangers FC
The problem is that touts buy season tickets and then sell these tickets, making a profit from the A-games. There are tickets for sale on Viagogo for 400 quid. I saw one ticket the paddock for 350. Surely the club/viagogo can monitor which seats are for sale every game and put a stop to it?
How can Viagogogirl monitor who is a home fan and who isn't? There are often different people in the same season ticket seats near us. I'll bet that there will be a good few Utd fans (with London addresses) in our end tomorrow.
Well normally it's true to say nobody likes a grass but tomorrow might have to let that go. It's one thing in a corporate section but not on in a normal home section. People paying those prices are probably overseas tourists. Certainly not proper Mancs and deserve to be turfed out
Why are sites like this allowed in the first place? Letting them go above face value is nothing short of the touting that's illegal if one of us does it. We had a good system before where if we couldn't make a game we could contact the club, they'd apply a credit to our account for when it came to either a cup tie or buying next year's season ticket, and then they'd sell the ticket at face value themselves. We'd get money back for part of our season ticket, and the club would get to resell the seat for more money than they'd already done (I think it was £10 we got credited when a season ticket worked out at £14/game and match tickets were £20-25 so the club could make an extra £15 on it. Why the **** should viagogo or anyone else get in on it and take that cash away from the clubs?
Just can't stand this system, which is why whenever I can't go I tout the ticket for nowt on here so other QPR fans can share the misery. This does seem to be an invitation to call out any Utd supporters sitting in the wrong place.
Let's face it this has always happened. I, like most here, have sat with home supporters at away matches. Old Trafford, Anfield, Hawthorns, Britannia, etc over the years; almost all times having to stand as each goal rains in! I think the thing that really winds everyone up is when there's no discretion. But I see little point in texting, as this rarely works with so many other fans there these are usually delayed. That said. We had great fun at Anfield a few years ago. A tense match that we lost 1-0. At the time me and a pal put on our best scouse accent and passed naive opinions on the QPR players at the time. Exaggerating the threat of Jamie McKay [as he was announced on the tannoy] and Shaun Wright Phillips. The best bit was when he true scousers sat around us tuned into these comments and started climbing into their own players for not dealing with their 'threat'.
I don't have a problem with an opposition fan being in the home end. I've done it a few times when with mates or the odd occasion I couldn't get in the away end. The problem with these games for me is that there will be a handful who get tickets in the Lower Loft openly supporting United, which isn't on.
Just goes to show the power of the Man United religion the benchmark of how to become biggest giant in the footballing industry If our club had any serious understanding of brand building they should stop thinking like we are a sunday team and aim for 1% of what United have done ... It's starts now because there is a good chance that QPR could not only reclaim a lot of closet fans but also reinstate us as a darling London based football team in a trendy new church What we are today is terrible Do something about it QPR! You create a crazy demand for tickets like United have with skill Then you can go and spend 150m just on players. When United come to town to a little chapel then expect a little red devil worship What comes out of our club and the timing of it makes us look like ****s at times
I do the same at LR sometimes with mates hence my remarks last year that LR fans had gone quiet I suggest we behead any United fan we find in hoops areas that will send out a clear message about buying tickets any way you can on the Internet
Beheading is an option. Personally I think everyone should be asked on the turnstile who Carl Leaburn's one QPR appearance was against. Might create a queue but will keep the plastics out.
This seems smart. Helps the real fans who have a genuine reason for missing a game and those who cannot get match day ticket. The box office would have a sign with ' day returns' . It would operate like the theatre kiosk in Leicester square. This viagogo thing is absurd.
Could be a very passionate game. Temper flair. We can be not the most welcoming ground sometimes to away fans sitting amongst us....
