Rotherham manager Steve Evans says defender Scott Wootton is returning to Leeds United. After Scott Wootton's loan deal at Rotherham ended, Millers manager Steve Evans told BBC Radio Sheffield that the Leeds defender will be returning to Elland Road. Wootton, 23, joined Leeds for £1m from Manchester United just 18 months ago, but has slipped down the pecking order under Neil Redfearn, with the Leeds manager preferring to use the likes of Alex Pearce, Giuseppe Bellusci and Liam Cooper in the heart of his defence. It's therefore little surprise that Evans revealed how Redfearn had agreed to sell Wootton permanently, but also told BBC Radio Sheffield that Leeds president Massimo Cellino overruled him and cancelled the deal. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015...am-bid-to-sign-leeds-defender-scott-wootton/?
First, I am glad he is staying, but why did Redfearn believe he had the permission to sell Wootton? Anyone would be forgiven for thinking Cellino is trying to undermine and force Redfearn out How many more times is he going to make Redfearn look a bit of a clown. YES I KNOW someone will be along with a face palm and say here we go again but come on, something is seriously wrong. You have to wonder WHY Redfearn assumed or felt he had the authority to agree the sale...
So players redders wants to strengthen he cant have. and those he says arnt good enough and can leave Cellino wants to keep I can see you ending up with Cani if i was Redders id sack Cellino
Redfearn agreed the sale of Wootton, he doesn't need him, Redfearn has blocked it and calling Wootton back to the club.
But its **** all to do with Redfearn isn't it Ristac, because he's only the coach isn't he, that's not in his job description or have I got it wrong? I don't think its right btw
I am also wondering why he felt he had the okay to sell him, he is either mad, mistaken or Cellino said one thing to him and meant another. Just My Opinion - Cellino and Redfearn spoke, Cellino said get rid of a defender assuming Redfearn wouldn't dare keep Warnock knowing how Cellino felt about him... Redfearn wanted to keep Warnock hence why he made him captain and made comments about needing experience and agreed to let Wootton go, he wasn't at the club, he was out on loan so why not? Cellino scuppered it by telling Derby they could have Warnock but he waited to ensure Warnock passed a medical at Derby and when he did he pulled the Wootton deal leaving Redfearn to look a mug.
Quite possibly, I am all for Wootton staying, I do believe he would be just the player we need if we go down and as cover for RB. I just find it strange that Redfearn felt he had the okay to agree a sale in principle. You feel something is coming to a head, I just wonder if Cellino gets the all clear with his appeal will we be in for some major changes
Sounds to me like Evans thought he's managed to convince Redders that he should release Wootton, then Cellino returned & said "Fine, but you've got to pay the £500k outstanding to scum". End of deal. Evans vents his anger by releasing a wee story to the press. The above is as likely as any other scenario. It's nothing unless you want to blow it into something.
They gave the fans back their ticket money after that **** performance. **** me, they'll be in worse financial state than by the end of the season they keep that up
I wonder what Wooton feels about being wanted at Rotherham and then having to return to a club that apparently did not want him.
