I hope we don't live to regret losing his experience in a shaky defence, even if he was (probably) being paid far too much and his loss of pace raised questions.
I am going to meet WJ at The New Inn in wetherby for a pint, if I don't come back you know it was a trap...... Tell the police..
I guess if we go down we will never know if keeping him would have made a difference or not. If releasing/selling him has saved us £650,000 that is a small price to pay IF his experience meant the difference of survival or relegation. I just saw Leeds60 mention he was off out for a pint
anyone going for a pint in leeds next Thursday afternoon. Couple of good pubs on Wellington st. Lots of free entertainment available locally.
http://www.insidefutbol.com/2015/01...nt-offer-me-anything-stephen-warnock/183384/? States that Cellino NEVER offered him any kind of contract.
No point,I would say he knew Derby were offering him 18 months so asked for better,2 years.Celino said he wasn't going to offer a 33 year old more than a 1 year,so nothing to say.
Just a serious question, banter and difference of opinions aside.... 1) Do you simply feel there is too much negativity towards Cellino/Leeds so feel the need to defend him, club, performances? 2) Do myself and or Glory wind you up and you just go opposite to everything said through dislike? 3) Do you HONESTLY believe everything you post that some others deem to be too rosy? Forget this post and your most recent reply, I just knew when I saw you commenting it would be something like this, it isn't a dig mate, I am trying to understand a few posters on here better. You're an intelligent guy and I just can't get my head around the 100% Cellino can do no wrong attitude, that we as a club never have a bad game and the constant positive attitude towards it all. Again I ain't knocking you, I just can't work out why your opinion is 100% opposite to mine 100% of the time?
Celino said give Me 2 years there is no quick fix, can't be bothered to look for posts but loads on here were saying would be happy just to stay up first year considering the massive change in the team. 2 other clubs had big changes,1 is Blackpool (bottom) the other to a lesser extent is Fulham but they spent big time and are just above us,its a big job to change 2/3rds of a team. Been watching Leeds a lot of years and remember another team of very young players with potential playing for Leeds in the 80's,very like present team, could beat the top sides yet lost far too many of the games we expected to win. Then like now many fans including me said they aren't good enough, will never make it etc etc yes I was like you .We got our way and gave away a lot of the young players who would never make it.Denis Irwin,Scott Sellers,Ian Snodin,Andy Linighan,John Sheridan and John Scales.Think we were right non of them made it did they ?. So to cut it short I've seen impatient fans fook things up too many times and I believe at least half of the currant young lads have a big future.I also believe players read, pick up all the very negative posts, talk etc and very well may read this site.If they did what effect would you say yours and glory's posts would have, would you say you have helped the team you love or maybe cost them in some way ?.Feel like I'm writing a book here,so will stop not sure if you understand my view any better. PS not 100% behind Celino, just 100% behind players and club but do believe Celino to be the best available at the moment, but would welcome a rich good owner with no baggage.
Cheers LCW BTW I remember that team.. I have many of their autographs on a headed letter, I wrote to the club as a teenager, Eddie Gray was the manager I believe as he signed it too.
Naughty, naughty, very naughty. Did they take your advice? Tell us all about it. Many, many times. I am bowing in you direction at your great influence. I am not worthy.
