He tore up his contract at Newcastle to sign for Nice, but now FIFA have refused him permission to play for them, due to him having already played for two clubs this season. It's ridiculously harsh, as he only played one U21 game for Newcastle, but it serves the twat right.
On said topic, I was in Paris at the weekend and it was surreal to see a full page pic of a Hull City shirt worn by HBA beaming out from the front page lead of one of the big French sports dailies or weeklies. I really thought we'd arrived.
Surely if this is correct then Sagbo can't leave us this window and join a French team as he has already played for 2 teams this season Wolves and us.
His appeal with FIFA has failed, he's definitely not going to be able to play again until next season.
He is a twat, but ruling that playing for the u21s counts as playing for Newcastle is a little bit ridiculous
So if this is the case then who pays his wages, he left us, tore up his Newcastle contract and can't sign for anyone else?
No one's more disappointed than me that Ben Arfa ****ed up his loan with us. I had high hopes that he would be fantastic, because he's certainly got the ability. It wasn't to be and he obviously left under a cloud. However, I feel that this decision is a bit harsh. Under the rules, it'll be the 'right' one but nonetheless, a bit harsh.
He can't play but I don't think that stops them from signing him and paying him. Much like Suarez and his ban. If he's not getting paid, that's even better, but sadly I suspect that wont be the case.
I'm sure he wouldn't be interested but, based on this quote on SSN, Would you take him back on a 6 month contract with no wage or would he be bad for squad morale?
It's looking like a move to the MLS is the only possibility for Ben Arfa now... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490
