Trevor Ward-Davies, best known as Dozy from the 60s pop group Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich, has died at the age of 70. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-30811311
Dave Dee was the first policeman on the scene when Eddie Cochran was killed. He ended up with his guitar. Cochran's girlfriend was extremely grateful when he got it back to her a few years later. Another one who went last year, which I didn't notice, was Johnny Gustaffson of the Merseybests.
so that's dave dee and dozy gone. i do hope they're not going to die in the order they appear in the band!
Best version by them of Some Other Guy. My favourite record from the time of Merseybeat (Merseybeat in general) was Don't Turn Around by The Merseybeats. Was once at a pop quiz and was beaten in the final by someone who knew the answer when they played Don't Turn Around by the Merseybeats and Beautiful Day by Daniel Boone and asked what the connection was. Didn't mind losing to,someone with that sort of knowledge.
Pretty near every group in Liverpool picked The Big Three as the best Mersey group. (And....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Some_Other_Guy)
Between 1965 and 1969, the group spent more weeks in the UK singles charts than the Beatles. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-30811311
The Sound Of Music was the biggest selling album of the 1960s. Sold more than the Beatles 2 best selling albums put together. Doesn't mean I would rather listen to it. Beatles didn't spend a lot of time in the charts as most of their records had huge advanced orders so they had no slow burners.
"Beatles"? Do you mean "The Beatles"? Your incorrect penning of the band's name renders your information meaningless. Petty & pedantic.............. Eh? RIP, by the way.
A bit like your meaningless series of dots. I actually meant to put Beatles records which would have been more correct.
Can it be more correct? Surely it's either correct or it isn't. Does "more correct" make any sense? I'd concentrate on getting the basics right yourself if you're setting out to highlight minor errors of others in a petty, pedantic & irrelevant manner.
Sir Bender, I salute the level of pedantry you reach in this post. That one causes me much annoyance too. Along with people saying "Oh it's a NIC Card." NO IT IS NOT! OMG! It's a Network Interface Card Card is it? NO IT IS NOT. Its just NIC ffs. Thanks.
