Same old situation in the UK. If Lionel Messi went to a local comp in the UK he would not have made the 1st xi due to his lack of size.

After Dani and Suso I cannot even look Canos or Chirivella in the eye. Its like i know their future

22.19 GMT: Liverpool legend Steve Nicol says the Anfield club should targetAlexandre Lacazette, the Lyon striker who leads all Ligue 1 scorers with 19 goals, and that Fabian Delph would be a good addition to Brendan Rodgers' squad

First one yes, second one no,already have Joe Allen and the like in the squad, not needed.

Talk of PSG's Ezequiel Lavezzi joining Valencia on loan this month (+option to buy) gathering pace. If true, PSG likely close to replacement.......

Seen this one doing the rounds, if there are legs in this one, another cracking player that we could use slipping away without even a thought to look at him?

Maybe PSG are considering signing the Ligue 1 top scorer ?

Paris St-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, 29, is set for an £8m switch to Liverpool switch as PSG line up Nicolas Gaitan, 26, as his replacement. (Daily Express)

so........ we get the offcast but if i think of it positively.... if borini goes for 8 and lavezzi comes wouldn't it at least be an upgrade?

I think Lavezzi would be a good fit for the PL, don't think we'll be signing him but would be happy to have him - especially, as you say, if it's virtually a swap for Borini

Apparently Crystal Palace are after Enrique - hopefully we do get rid of the deadwood in this squad sooner rather than later.

Lavezzi would be good but he has some serious attitude problems.

Lavezzi on loan would be interesting. Wouldn't want us to be saddle with him though. He'll be 30 in a few months and his wages will be hefty - in a year or two he'll be deadwood.

    Eurosport:
Lavezzi set for Liverpool switch: Liverpool have been handed a boost in their efforts to sign forward Ezequiel Lavezzi after PSG have made signing Nicolas Gaitan a priority. Liverpool are long-term admirers of the Argentina international, having lost out on signing him from Napoli in 2012. But according to The Express, “Lavezzi could finally arrive at Anfield for a measly £8m with PSG looking to offload the 29-year-old in January. The Ligue 1 giants are aiming to improve their Financial Fair Play situation by reducing their wage bill, with Lavezzi on a sizeable salary of £3.5m per season.”

3.5mil per year is what, just over 65k per week? I could see us paying that for him.

If enrique is being sought i'd have to seriously think about letting him go. he simply has not come back in after this knee injury enough to justify keeping hold if the offer is 5-7mil.... if the offer is derisory i'd tell them to f off.

We have to wonder about flanagan at this point... still no closer so what would we do... allow johnson back in? play markovic/moreno all ear in the role?

Maybe we could save money by fitting some sort of electric collar to Johnson which punishes him for leaving his position? Maybe Pascoe could administer differing severities of shocks for his trademark 'wait and misplace' passes?

He's a poor defender so I'd definitely get rid.

Moreno and Manqulllo should be the wing backs. Flanno is a back up at best, and I wouldn't be surprised if we don't renew his contract.

Johnson should not be anywhere near the first team. We mentioned it on another thread - we may still be conceding a few goals here and there but since he and Lovren are out, we're not making as many mistakes and we're building attacks from the back.

  20. I wanted us to go for Lavezzi in the summer after we missed out on Sanchez. For £8m and around £65k per week, I'd definitely take him despite being nearly 30. The only thing that makes me take a step back is the prospect of Tevez being available for free in the summer. Could we have both...? <laugh>

I wouldn't sell Enrique either. I think he is a very good LB that competes very well with Moreno for a place in the team. If we were to sell him, I'd want to see a LB arrive first, we need to be aiming for two decent players in every position.
