Newcastle (A) WIN Swansea (H) WIN QPR (A) WIN West Ham (H) WIN Liverpool (H) WIN West Brom (A) WIN If you want to be a top 4 team the outlook is as above.
Looking at them game by game, they're all winnable. We could do with Pelle getting back into goal scoring form again.
I saw some-one earlier in the thread go for 18 points and thought optimistic fool - but maybe they are the wise one!
Good thing about the next 5-6 games is that a bunch of the chasing pack are playing each other. Hopefully we can use that to gain some ground!
I so hope we have close to a full strength XI for the Liverpool game. I want us to outplay them at SMS.
The fact that crystal palace is our next game is quite nice. Gives the team time to recover and get injured players back in time for swansea. Well fingers crossed to have at least morgan and toby back.
For the Saints, the second half of the season could be totally different to the first. Teams may start looking at you as serious Top 4 contenders and change their tactics accordingly. Wins that on paper you would "expect" to get may suddenly start becoming draws as teams start using more defensive strategies against you.
That's true. Koeman said himself that playing top sides suits us better as we get the space and they have ambition. We don't score as freely as I would like, so teams could close us out (with the obvious risk that they score the only goal of the game). But that is the way it is...if we deserve top 4, we will get it.
It would TSS, although the devil in me would love the reaction afterwards if they hit the woodwork three times, have two penalties turned down and our winner is offside, handball, deflected of Lovren and following a mishit cross from Tadic that actually hit the pole behind the goal before coming back into play
