Shows why he was keen to take Evans.

Sign a player that before his sentence was worth a few £m. Get him back in the game , take the womens libbers flak, 6 months later he's old news and just another footballer, scores a bag full of goals in League 1, Championship club stump up a few £m. Odham Chairman cashes his chips in. Lovely jubbly.

What Evans did was reprehensible, sisu you need to acquaint yourself with the facts. He's now suffering the consequences of his actions and only has himself to blame. Bruce is entitled to his opinion and was brave to come out in support, given the atmosphere the case has produced but he was ill advised with his choice of words. The other player charged who got off was playing for Port Vale at the time [both of them products of man city] and so had a similar profile to Evans so the suggestion that only Evans was targeted for guilty verdict and the other one not, doesn't stand up.

  3. We have a justice system to deal with crimes. Evans has been through it and served what was deemed suitable punishment. He deserves to be able to get on with his life now. That's how society is supposed to work.

I reckon most have a issue with the amount of time served. Clearly it wasn't enough but that's the justice systems fault, not Evans'.

    Spot on to be fair...

It Is std practice for people to be released at roughly half sentence (Good behaviour) It Is not then standard practice for the media etc to decide where and how an offender of any nature can make a living and get on with their life...

I wonder what the media would say If he put out a statement asking them what he Is now allowed to do?
Perhaps he should try that lol

Evans was earning £20k while Macdonald earned about £1000 at Port Vale.

What are the facts? Seeing as the evidence is at best, questionable.

  8. I don't know a thing about this MacDonald chap, that would suggest hes not had the same treatment at all. If its down to player profile then why do we have PL players who never get the same level of ****?

Given that she came onto McDonald and happily went back with him to the hotel, it was accepted that she at least implicitly gave her consent. She didn't meet Evans until he was in the hotel room.

What did he do? Remember the only witnesses that claim to remember what happened said the girl was up for it and there is no forensic evidence to suggest otherwise nor is there a denial from the girl herself as she claims to remember nothing but being in a chippy.

The facts of the case you refer to are A The admissions by the two lads and B. CCTV that doesn't show anything that proves anything, except that the girl was pissed. Now tell me when claiming you were pissed has ever absolved you of responsibility in the justice system?

Does this ruling mean that all the prossies that did a 20 bag before taking a client can now claim they were raped seeing as they were in "no condition to consent" to sex? It seems deciding to get hammered and then as a result deciding to get banged has no bearing on this<doh>

What happened was PC femtard justice was meted out via a prosecution that went after Evans bigtime.

So please tell me what the facts of this case are?

Never said he wasn't a douche, even the thought of sloppy seconds is eughh.

The fact is I can get hammered and agree to you punching me in the face. I'd have a hell of a time trying to get you done for gbh under those circumstances.
The only person that knew whether the girl was able to consent is her and she's drawn a blank on whether she did or not.
How that is = to conviction of rape is beyond any reasonable thought.

Had it been vice versa and he was pissed and he consented, do you reckon the jury would have convicted her? We all now the answer but humour me.

Had it been 2 plasterers called Eddie and Mick in exactly the same scenario and the same woman went to the police reporting a lost bag and spiked drink nearly 24 hrs after the incident, it never would have got beyond them re-uniting her with her handbag.

No accusation of rape, no injuries, no sign of struggle, witness heard consensual sex, no forensics. There's no way on Gods a earth plod would have suggested a rape charge. Evans charge was a direct result of his status. The copper who interviewed him even wrote Titus Bramble? in his notes ffs.

    wft

It was the cops that told her she could charge for rape, as said, she never reported rape at all.

    #stitchedup

What's the bets there is massive pressure from rape groups over conviction rates too. This is a nice high profile to pander to those, all at the expense of a guy's life, but fk it, when it comes to militant women's issues we are irrelevant.. disposable.. if not the cause of their problems in the first place <doh>.

I'm not particularly arguing. How you could argue that it was rape beyond reasonable doubt I don't know - I would think there's definately a degree of reasonable doubt. That said, I wasn't there in the courtroom.

It's a really tricky area because can argue from both sides. If you know a girl is way too drunk you can easily take advantage but unless you have a stack of independent witnesses, how can anyone prove someone is too drunk to consent?

What I also find shocking is how someone can be reported as being charged under suspicion of rape. Should never be allowed to report that as even if found innocent, people still have to live with that stigma and it won't go away. For your average man in the street can cause so much damage, especially when the accuser can remain anonymous.

But as a plasterer I'd have asked how much she wanted for the job and her landline number, told her to multiply it by two.

And we'd have been good to go.

  18. Its suppose to be innocent until proven guilty but in modern society its guilty until proven innocent. Unfortunately that is now the way of the world because of the introduction of technology and particularly social networks that give all and sundry a platform in which to air their views (bit like were doing on here right now <whistle>).

It shouldn't be tricky at all though. The court ruling for someone being guilty is supposed to be 'beyond reasonable doubt'. In other words, to convict someone there shouldn't be any reason to suspect they could be innocent.

In a situation where its basically one word against another with no possible evidence to support either claim (the argument is about consent, they both accept there was sexual activity) it is more or less impossible to have a 'beyond reasonable doubt' conviction. In Evans' case, it was 2 (Evans and Macdonald) vs 0 (she was too pissed to remember) so the fact he got find guilty seems ridiculous really. However, I've obviously not seen any of the paperwork so there is probably things I'm unaware of too.

Agree but a lot of rape cases are 1 persons word against the other, but there are a lot of convictions and must be able to prove it one way or another. There was someone a while ago that got slaughtered for suggesting there are different "levels" of rape and you can see what they were trying to say.

Getting drunk and having sex while drunk is very different (and probably much more preferable) than being attacked violently!

Yes, I got a notification, no idea about the @Gerrez
