We heard this continuously when we were trying to sign a decent striker whilst we were in the Championship and also when we first reached the Premier League. I seem to remember players like Michael Owen and James Beattie (among many others) who replied in this manner when approached by Hull City. I remember on another site I had a list of about 20 players who had turned us down called the "Thanks, but No Thanks" file - much to the chagrin of other posters. It was, however, a cold hard fact. It appears to be happening again with Defoe (regardless of his wages) and Sanogo (who has chosen Palace instead) with both giving us the "Big Finger". It looks like the Clubs profile has not been raised by Mr Allam nor has the City of Kingston Upon Hull despite this "City of Culture" business. I don't know what the Club or the Council can do about this. We have a good stadium with a good core base of fans but players from all over the place still say "Who"? when asked about joining Hull City. We must surely be due a change of luck in this department but if we do manage to attract a striker or two the demand on them will be enormous - maybe that's what's putting them off.
Shortest sentence in the Bible I believe Tuck but I guess appropriate. If HE was a Hull City fan he would be doing more than weeping.
With a name like that he would have to be one of your relatives Dildo. Now, have you anything sensible to say because in case you haven't noticed we are 3rd from bottom in the Premier League
With a name (Anida ****) like that he would have to be one of your relatives Dildo. Now, have you anything sensible to say because in case you haven't noticed we are 3rd from bottom in the Premier League. Miguel Danny is a 31 year old Midfielder with a dodgy knee. Cost 30 million a few years back. Are we after another Tea-Lady? Sorry Double Post we have Electric Storms in my area and I am experiencing PC Drop-outs.
We didn't problems attracting players in the summer. There's not a chance in hell that Defoe will sign for anyone outside of London. He even turned down Man Utd when at West Ham because he wanted to stay in London. Sanogo would probably sign for Palace because he's more likely to get games there.
Yes, I know Dildo, but he is a flaming midfielder, way past his best, and we have midfielders coming out of our @rse. Have a look at our injury list (see attachment) and look at the 'strikers' we have available Sagbo (for Gawds sake), Brady (ditto) and Ince. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull-City-injury-list-injured-long/story-25842059-detail/story.html C',mon mate, all joking apart we are in deep Anida!
but he seems the KOREN type player many a fan seem to be looking for 6 month left on his contract , need a striker or 2 also
And you reckon he wouldn't get a start here in front of Sagbo, Brady and Ince up front? Joking mate! Whereas I never expected Defoe to come here my point was that they won't even discuss a proposal from Hull City. The players we 'attracted' in the summer 'Cas' were the best we could get from those available and some have failed to live up to expectations. I have always maintained that should we ever be able to field a team from an injury free first choicers we could well be quite formidable but injuries have put a stop to that and now we have to look at an elastoplast solution to keep us in this league.
loan to buy deal for Defoe £4m transferred in July, loan another Premier League standard striker and buy danny for £4m job done, other options also available (clearly) that would still be with in FFP rules
Cannot find anything anywhere that we are interested in Danny nor can I find anything anywhere that we are interested in anybody just now. That injury list I posted earlier would break any club let alone one struggling for survival. I'm just hoping that Steve Bruce can provide a miracle before the end of the month.
would Bruce post his personal phone calls online, the Russian market is for rich pickings,, players want the **** out of russia, owners have lost 20-40% due to sanctions
a £26m signing in 2008 now £4-5m because he has 6months left on contract and the santions is russia BARGAIN
I wonder if being the Captain of Spurs and spending 9 years at the club will have an effect on joining hull , dawson/defoe,,who ever took advantage of the 30/1 odds is a doosh
