Nice thread always love a bit of film, game and music chat Music wise I recently been enjoying the new Tom Vek album, lots of deadmau5 and have been getting into LCD Soundsystem. Was rather dissappointed with the new Elbow album, would like them to head back to their earlier slightly more alternative side, they're becoming a bit T4 on the Beach fodder now. Gig wise I'm off to see a Japanese band called Guitar Wolf on Friday up in Islington and the last gig I attended was deadmau5 in Victoria Park. Don't get much time to hit the xbox and Wii at the mo, if I do though it's usually multiplayer Battlefield Bad Company 2, can't wait for Battlefield 3!! Film wise I've recently enjoyed the Banksy film Exit Through the Gift Shop, In the Loop and Four Lions. I'm also working my way through Battlestar Galactica (new one, not the original series with Dirk Benedict) which is awesome!
Last gig I went to was Wireless Festival on Friday. I'm one of those who kind of shuns music that's rammed down your throat but I went as I bought it as gift to the girlfriend. I was pleasently surprised at how good everyone was and will definitely be keeping an eye open next year for the line up. I'm one of the wierd ones who likes music at opposite ends of the spectrum. I like to relax with artists like Bon Iver, City & Colour, The Fray and the like but on a night out love some of the lesser hardcore dubstep and drum & bass with High Contrast, Sub Focus, Chase & Status etc. Only really a gamer when I'm with a group of friends and it's a competitive situtation. The UFC games, NFL and of course FIFA.
I think I've just woken out of a one hundred year sleep! Whats happened to the Crew Cuts, the Ink Spots, Marty Wild ?
I love playing Fifa can't really say i'm any good at it online though I don't mind football manager either
Try to when possible. Do enjoy a bit of Cluedo and Go For broke. GillinghamLAD - Also like a bit of Sub Focus. If you like your dubstep you should have a look at a guy called Skrillex.
Can't beat a bit of footy manager, although it seems weird being the Gills on it now barely any of them actually play for us anymore...
I'm quite the fan of Skrillex too browntownlad. Seen his stuff before he entered the Dubstep scene?? Used to front an emo/punk band! You from the Medway area? Maidstone has REALLY got a strong Dubstep/Drum&Bass scene these days.
Yeah I'd seen that Skrillex was part of a punk setup, although not heard their stuff. Bit like Four Tet who was part of a more standard band and then branched out with some quite different individual stuff. Saw Skrillex supporting deadmau5 a while back, he was very good. Often hear about lots of dnb events Maidstone way. Isn't there a Maidstone based dnb radio station? I am indeed a Medway-ite by the way!
Does anyone know when they update the bronze players gor the gills. I want to start playing online with lee and wheldale. As we're on the subject does anyone else play. What are your teams ect. G'day much love
Sorry guy's - I've just merged this with the entertainment thread, gaming/music/film chat. As voted for by the board members
To be honest, I am actually so sad that I have already updated the squad's myself. You have to create Flitney, Fish and Kedwell yourself but it isn't too hard. Hoping Later today I will be setting to work on Adam Birchill, Gillingham's number 10
