One of my mates knows the 1st team coach at Sunderland Charlie Oatway and said about going to the game on Tuesday 10th Feb and although I must be mad I am considering it. Would have to stay over night and was wondering if and where anyone who is going will be staying. Charlie's Oatway's full name is Anthony Philip David Terry Frank Donald Stanley Gerry Gordon Stephen James Oatway. The reason behind this rather unusual name is the fact that both his parents were QPR fans, and decided to give their son the names of QPR's entire 1973 first team squad. When his parents told his aunt the proposed name, she said "he'd look a right Charlie", and the name stuck.
Honestly, I'd sooner eat broken glass than schlep all the way up there to watch another dismal surrender.
Not enough. I think I'd need to be paid for my time to make that particular trip worth doing. A couple of hundred quid would be fine.
Fair play to them for doing so, little expense it will incur. It's still at least a day's holiday you're giving up for it and arriving home at 5am or something stupid. Anyone going from London has my utmost respect/sympathy.
They ran 6 free coaches on Sat for Burnley too..... Was misery..... at least you miss the Millwall fans on the train by going on the coach..... all misery..... Still - who do we think we are...... all the misery. We are in the promised land for a season at least. We should be turning up and enjoying it. I know the football is dire - but we were not going to be Swansea in one year..... if we manage to stay up and get a decent manager - then hope springs - until then - misery never bought me a drink...so am going to turn up when I can and enjoy what I can... apart from the Millwall fans.
They haven't won at home for three months. We haven't won away in the Prem for years. Odds still with them.
Why not cant get any worse!! If anyone is thinking about going up from East Leeds/Wetherby area and wants a lift pm me.
Planning to be there subject to work commitments Have been invited up by two work colleagues who are Sunderland fans Was there for the last match - a truly dismal 0-0, albeit a point away from home!
Just booked my train tickets for the Hull away match too Last cheap Hull Trains 1st class ticket to get me back to London
That'll be your first away win of the season. We could be having a season like Chelsea are having, we'd still be the side to give a team their first away win of the season in their (unlucky for some) 13th away game.
