No. I hope they do sustain a challenge but they'll falter eventually. The problems with the likes of Aberdeen and Dundee Utd is lack of consistency. Look at Dundee Utd. They pump Dundee 6-2 one week then draw two all with Patrick Fissell the next.
That's what I'm thinking, however, Celtic are inconsistent also... I suspect that Celtic will drop points tonight!
They have to be, we are dire and not improving. Imagine we do punt VVD in this window we will have a defense on par with Ross County!
At the beginning of the season i was one person that said Celtic would win the league by 15 / 20 clear points. I don't believe Aberdeen have the strength / resources to challenge Celtic all the way to the end of the season. By the end of January, if Celtic are still behind Aberdeen they will go out and spend 2/3 million (talk about buying the league eh)
They can't be can they? I mean were we not promised Armageddon and are we not told on a daily basis that Scottish football needs a strong Rangers? The SPFL cannot be anywhere near as competitive as SFL1 who have Hibs, Hearts and Rangers vying for the title....so we were promised. We've downsized in terms of players (management perhaps) and ambition, hopefully we are saving our money for when we need it but fair dues to the Dandy Dons and the others, they've made a fight of it and not been intimidated by our apparent destiny to win the league by 20 points.
Aberdeen don't have a hope in hell of beating Celtic to the SPFL title, especially with officials like Collum and his two linesmen at the game against Hamilton today.Even though we won 3 - 0 some of the decisions was horrendous. Rooney scores -- linesman and ref waves play on. Goodwillie scores --- linesman flags for offside with a Hamilton player on the line. Consodine also had a goal chalked off for climbing on his opponent which was also very controversial and Rooney was picked up and slammed to the ground in the penalty area, guess what? No penalty. Wouldn't surprise me if we had these inept officials on the 1st of March.
