If we end up talking wife swapping I will accept a fishing rod and a couple of tins for mine! Ps just started a thread that everyone but elland will be able to unite around.
Good one glory Perhaps more off topic threads might liven things up. I know its a Leeds forum but maybe as were so crap, we need to broaden our horizons or cast the fishing net a little wider
The alternative would be for all those that disagree that we have a chance of making the top 6 to refrain from posting. I don't believe for a second you even believe we have a chance of that if you are honest? That would leave a very short and quickly die a death thread? I posted again because I took offence to leeds60 and the detractors swipe, as Glory points out history will show who is right or wrong. I don't mind people trying to be optimistic, my opening comment I stand by, if any Leeds fan believes we will make top 6 then I must be on a different planet or looking at a different set of results, form, table. I also gave valid reasons as to why I believe Birmingham have made a climb out of relegation. As much as you probably get annoyed with my negative outlook on affairs, I fail to understand how anyone can feel positive about things at the moment, are my thoughts on this thread any different to Wolves White or Damned? As for bad run, yes all teams go through one, they don't usually last 12 months though.
I think you are right about the state of our club, however I think you would have to concede it is easier to be a pessimist than an optimist at the moment. What winds me up is the odd poster ( in all senses of the word) who despite no evidence to the contrary wants to get all fighty gob when we don't share his " we are getting better" view of things. But here we go again. We all know what we think, Eire is right let's try and move on for a bit, another three weeks and we will either be nailed on to go down or safe IMO.
Before Eire posted I had quietly decided to refrain for a while with anything negative, I wasn't going to say anything as supporting Leeds lately has made it far too easy to be negative Norris and it will be testing
Yes Chaps its easy to be negative but supposing god for bid you are wrong and I for one sincerely hope so then what will you say
I unlike you will hold my hand up and admit I was wrong but the chances of me being wrong are at least 100-1
Unfortunately the detractors at the moment are odds on I will still go with Billy but thats why I am what I amwhats your excuse HAW HAW
You lads have only four months left to see whos right or wrong. Not too long to wait surely. Well all be hoping its a positive outcome of course
I still think that most normal people would think I was much younger than you so stop looking in the mirror it wont help
Hmmm ... not a lot of positivity on here it seems ... my point is that anyone can still get into the top six, so why shouldn't it be us ... our performances at home to Derby and away to Bournemouth showed us what our players are capable of when they turn up, all they need is to be playing in a system they believe in ... Redders seems to have woken up, and is now two games into the 4-2-3-1 using TWO holding mids and two wide players, the same formation used by Southampton so successfully ... this makes us harder to run through, so teams have to try and go around us, and we now have options to break at pace, as Byram did so effectively at Bolton ... it also means we have midfielders getting beyond the striker, something we have lacked all season ... if our players settle into this formation and start to see everyone putting in a shift, watch out ... Redders and Leeds need a win, and soon, and confidence will return ... belief is a funny thing, because once you feel invincible you fear nobody, and that is the key to the rest of the season ... now is the time when teams decide if they're up for the chase or not, and three wins on the spin can transform a club ... yes, I agree Birmingham don't have the quality, so how have they managed to get this run going, and pointing at beating bottom half clubs as the answer won't do, because we've seen far too many "strange" results in the Championship to know better ... no, for me we still have a shot, only just, but its still a shot ... 45 points from 63 is doable, which means 15 wins and 6 losses, not exactly brilliant in terms of stats but that's all that's required in this league ... I am so tired of the downbeat mood, the constant negativity, and yes I still don't feel Redders is the man, but at least he seems to have realised he couldn't just bumble along and hope for the best, so let's see what this new look line-up brings ... I really don't have a problem with people disagreeing, but if you didn't notice the change in attitude and performance at Bolton then go and have another look, because it's very encouraging ... Byram flying down the wing, cutting inside at pace, boy it was awesome ... I can only see us getting better if this continues, much better, and 15 wins in 21 is genuinely not impossible "Here’s to the crazy ones. The rebels. The troublemakers. The ones who see things differently. While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do." Billy, I hope your optimism is fully vindicated but you are basing it on a top 6 position of only 70 points. The average for 6th place is around the 74 mark and the current year has the makings of an average one. To average 2 pts per game is auto promotion form and we are nowhere near that. I would be delighted with a 32 point haul from the final 21 games to put us on the same total as last year and a mid table finish. Facts show we are bottom of the past 6 games form table with only 2 points. I think our last 2 games are showing that things are hopefully getting sorted and that we can begin a slow climb up the table.
Good article, Billy. Optimism is such a positive thing. I'm open to the possibility you've suggested, and have hoped for it since the beginning of the season. The realist in me will not be disappointed if we only finish mid-table. Next season I might not be so forgiving, and most definitely less forgiving the season after that. It takes time to build a club (and team) from the bottom up, but the one thing that a lot of us can see is that we are moving in the right direction. There is hope & potential at our club again, the first time in years, so optimism, even tempered optimism, should not be seen to be out of place. Sadly, we have some very loud and persistent detractors (I do love to provoke! ) on here who would have us believe that all is lost. It isn't. And even if it was, it's our job as supporters to support the club (haven't we been told that before?).
As a John Deere (Google it) I absolutely suport the club. I methaphorically kick every ball, and how we play and the result we gets dictates how my week is going to go. But they don't read this and if they did they shouldn't.
Confused. John Deere. What's a tractor got to do with it? (Don't blame me - blame Google!). As for the last sentence, who are 'they', what is 'this'?
This guys a comic right ? nothing like making yourself look a pratt is there and i should know i know Glory
