I thought Eljero Elia had a pretty good debut. Hadn't played since November, so was fresh, but no doubt a bit rusty too. He had some very good moments, leaving a few players in the dust, or on their arses, but like Sadio Mane, he has to find his way into the team by finding when and where to do all the imaginative stuff. Very promising.

In contrast, Tadic came on and made an almost immediate difference, linking up with the rest of the team quite seamlessly. He's a bloody intelligent player, is our Dusan. I'm still quite astonished that no other club tried to pick him up from FC Twente before us. But there you go. Their stupidity is to our advantage.

Well, I have to be honest - this is the first time I have truly, truly believed we could get UCL qualification.

I keep trying not to get too excited but it's becoming very difficult.

So proud of the club and those who have overseen the past summer, as well as all of those involved since Markus (God rest his soul) picked us as the lucky ones.

The one thing that annoyed me (well one of a few actually) about Dowd today was when the ball went out and he didn't have the first scooby whether it was a goal kick or a corner (the commentators even remarked as such themselves) and he automatically gave a corner to United whilst smirking away.

But wow, that doesn't even remotely impinge on my joy!

Do not post much these days but today was one of the best defensive performances I have seen from a Saints team in along time. Rooney believes that we were lucky to win today, can you here that dipping noise it is my heart bleeding

Have to give props to Elia as well today. I don't think you can get more 'dropped in the deep end' than making a debut as a starter at Old trafford, in a new team, in a different league, different style, for a club with high ambitions and a terrible record at that ground.

Seems almost cruel now that i think about it, so well done Elia and welcome to Saints.

Yes and on the flip side, he may think it is always going to be this great at Saints :) Rock up, train, play and beat the biggest club in the country in their own back yard.

and what about RVP making his own rules for when a ball is put out of play for an injury?
Don't get me started on when he throws the ball aggressively into the referees stomach...

Still buzzing my tits off this morning. Keep balling my fists with glee. Even if this were a season where we got relegated, winning at OT would be a major highlight. A truly satisfying day. And to hear the MU fans - oh! it's music to my ears. But now we can forget them and keep going. #COYS
