I was at The Hawthorns yesterday, and came away disappointed not just by the result. What really stuck in my throat was the idiotic actions of a family of so-called City supporters. When the players came over to the fans at the end of the game to thank them for their support, this one family of a forty something bloke and his three teenage kids let rip with a volley of shameful abuse. The dad, inparticular , was showing all the players his fingers and screaming at them to F off. They were booing and shouting every obscenity under the sun at the players representing the club they claim to support. On behalf of 99.9% of decent City fans, I would like to apoligise to our players having to witness that. Yes the performance was not the best, but despite the horrible injury curse striking again, we would have claimed a vital point without that backpass. Personally, I always applaud the players off the pitch win, lose or draw. I can understand fans getting frustrated at performances and results, but screaming abuse at the players should never be accepted by true fans. Whilst I hope and pray we stay in the Premier League because it's the only place to be after decades of on and off the field mediocrity, if we do underachieve in the lower leagues again we will at least weed out the fly by night merchants who happen to scream abuse if we lose a Premier League game. On another point, I didn't think the atmosphere was as loud by our fans yesterday as it was last season at The Hawthorns. Maybe it was because I was stood right at the front this year, whereas last year I was stood at the back. I particularly found that long rendition of " City Away " to be boring and stopping other songs in our repertoire getting an airing. Then again I shouldn't really complain because I never sing anyway even though I like others to air their vocal chords. The West Brom fans were quiet, though not totally as silent as they were last season. The KC Stadium isn't always the loudest but most Premier League grounds are far quieter. Even Stoke last season was a morgue. I personally have found Everton to be the quietest home fans on our Premier League travels. I guess I am going off at a tangent here. Remember fellow City fans to carry on getting behind the lads and we might just avoid relegation. Just as important, NEVER shout abuse at the players who are representing our great club.
You should have been up at the back (row TT upwards), it was brilliant ............ the acoustics in that stand must be **** cos' from where I was stood we were certainly LOTS louder than last season. BTW, our fans abusing players at the end ? I never saw it or heard of it till now, if true (and given your recent form it's probably bollox), they're nowt' but ****s ... plain and simple.
I thought at the back it was great, best away atmosphere for a while, non stop singing from start to finish. Nothing worse though than being sat next to some prat who just yells constant abuse all game.
It's hard to understand why a City 'fan' would go to an away game to do that. Home game yes as there's always been moaners at home but you've got to go to a bit of trouble to follow away. You'd think that would weed out the psychotic.
I was next to one at Sheff Wed away who was blind drunk and berated everything. He only stopped when McLean scored and we were winning.
Barnsley away 2012/13 (second to last game of the season). A bunch of "fans" who were in their 40s and "muscled up" to say the least ramraided to the front of the stand near the dug out to hurl abuse at the players/staff. Poor Alex Bruce and Robbie Koren were almost acting as peace makers! I've seen some twats in my day at Hull City games, but these took the biscuit.
There were a lot of pricks at Hillsbrough last time we visited. Only went to hurl abuse at the police in light of the whole Hillsbrough to-do coming out.
I was at that game, it was a shocking display from a handfull of ****ers which was rightly condemned by the many who witnessed it - unlike the incident reported above by CityLover, a newbie poster whose only previous offering is a ''****s post'' aimed at a long standing City supporter accusing him of no longer being a fan .......... CityLover is nothing of the sort, he's a ****ing lowlife wummer.
The crowd at the back tried to create an atmosphere, but there was nothing to bounce off cos West Brom's answer was the **** with the drum. The City away song was decent & the best thing about the actual match. When they take off and sung over and over it's class. Unfortunately, it didn't this time. We shouldn't complain about the fans singing songs unless it contains anything applauding the Allams or "Hull Tigers" in it.
Well considering it's where everyone else in the Football League wants to be and it's our main source of revenue I suppose I am.
I have to respond to that lowlife Spesupersydera who has slagged me off without even knowing me. Firstly, I have been reading this message board for a very long time. Whether or when I choose to post on it is entirely up to me. I tend to post when I see an injustice occur, or when I read rubbish by the likes of our resident misery guts Castro's Coffin. I swear I did see that disgraceful incident carried out by that disgraceful family on Saturday. I am certainly no wummer. My family's unconditional support of Hull City AFC has been their since the 1920s. I myself have been in love with the Tigers since 1980. Indeed I have watched us play at well over 100 grounds in all divisions in that time. It is up to people to decide whether they like my rare posts or not. But please NEVER question the love or support I have for Hull City AFC.
You have a very similar writing style to an amusing ''out of town'' CI poster - perhaps you and he attended the same prep school, or maybe you were his *** at some second tier, fee paying establishment? You do know who I mean, don't you old bean?
Says the bloke who posted a thread about half the rest of the board not being Hull City fans. http://www.not606.com/threads/castros-coffin-is-an-ex-hull-city-supporter.287165/
At least the few muppets in our ranks did not sink as low as the some DQPR fans at Burnley. The game had 0 - 0 all over it until Gregs howler. That for me was the only complaint i could offer all things considered. Jelly and Hernandez going off so early was a massive blow.
