Watch how you go about this marra,You might end up getting called a happy clapper like me. I can see where your coming from tho.
Yesterday I was sat there with memories flashing back to the previous games where we used to get beat 0-4 often by Liverpool without getting into there half...now yesterday with 10 men looked like we were going to get a result from the game? and all I could hear from small sections of fans was moans and Giving players abuse...The players out there are ours and if your not going to support them please just shut up. And stop trying to run the game like your playing ****ing football manager or whatever it's called.<bubbly><bubbly><bubbly>

Anyone who watched the Palace game last night could learn a lesson on what supporting the team through thick and thin is all about..Their fans are giving their team all the support they can. Our home support at this time is by far and away the worst in the league and it something that I will fight tooth and nail to reverse..

That's part of the problem ...... too many experts wanting instant gratification like they get with their 'games'.

I see Big Gun is making a right tit of himself. The bloke who gave up on his own club giving others a lecture on home match atmosphere.

My view on home game atmosphere. When the Stadium of light opened it bounced, It was even better than it is now in our championship run under Keane. Fact is we're a sing when your winning club, and that is embarrassing as we never used to be. To all those who sit with your mouth shut expecting to be served entertainment before you get off your arse and get behind the team, you're an embarrassment to the club and you stick your middle finger up to over a century of first class support. These people are the worst thing to ever happen to the club and if any of you on here are one of these people hang your head in shame. You're inability to get behind your team is changing the face of our club for the worse. You're not alone, there's about 35,000 of you who should be hanging their heads with you.

I find myself agreeing with every post on this thread, we all want to see our "team" do well , but the gulf that exists between supporters and players is growing by the minute. Football has changed and so have supporters, TV money has not been shared, it has all gone to agents and players with no real benefit to the game itself or us the supporters, brilliantly represented here on this forum. In the short term a couple of home wins would ease our pain, but long term it is hard to see any positive change, unless it comes from fairer deals for all involved, from the very top right away down to the grass roots.

I have to make it clear that I no longer cheer the players and have no heroes.

My heroes are the faces I see, home & away, that I've seen for the last 40 years, some of them I've never even spoken to.

I cheer the shirt, the club & the history ...... as well as the decent supporters who aren't afraid to make a noise in their own stadium.

For many people buying a car is more than just a financial transaction. But that is just my opinion, like yours is that it is just a financial transactino.

Your reasons for going to games and how you behave at them might be totally different from the person in the seats next to you, in front and behind. They have as much right as to want to sit in silence as others who want to sing and shout.

I didn't even catch the stream yesterday. I was in an alcohol induced coma while the match was on embarrassingly. Ashamed to have left my seat empty. But good knows where the noise makers have gone. I don't expect them to start chants, just get off their arse for attacks and verbally encourage them. I stand for 90 minutes in the south stand, there's some who don't get off their arses when we score. How have they allowed themselves to become so sedated.

They have every right but they're inferior supporters.

It's the modern world, people have become mediocre and seem proud of it.

They don't half know their rights, in absolutely any situation, but certainly not their responsibilities, it's sad but irreversible.

I'm just pleased & proud to have been born in a better era.

35000 should hang their head in shame.

But the other 7000 are regularly out shouted by the away support., maybe it's them who should be ashamed.

According to who? I'm sure a lot of hooligans think what they do makes them good supporters.

That has to be the most pathetic comment I've ever read on this forum ever. Should we be quiet like the rest? <doh>

Away fans can't usually be heard by the people of the south stand as we're busy making noise ourselves. If you can even hear the away fans it means your sat in a boring sterile area of the ground.

I take it from your swipe at the people who try to generate an atmosphere that you're on of these who sits with your trap shut. You're an embarrassment, worse in fact with you attacking the ones who make effort. This club is better without you. At least the Ultimate Mackem has the Anger, that shows passion. You're clearly nowt to the club.

According to the players for a start.

If you believe insipid people who don't contribute, to whichever situation they're in, aren't inferior then that's your choice.

I'd hate to be at a concert where you don't applaud or a comedy show where you don't laugh.

Your opinion. I think your attitude is very poor and would not waste my time insulting you back...you'd probably not understand anyway.

Whatever. You suggested the people who makes noise are at fault, you're clearly an idiot and I'll be delighted if you don't waste your time responding to me. <ok>

    Not every player.

Quote from Buffon on Celtic: "They have fiery fans, but the fans can't score goals."

For what it is worth I agree with the sentiment that fans should participate in generating a good atmosphere. The key word being participate. Its 50/50 for me, the players and the fans.

I just don;'t agree with lambasting fellow supporters as a means to get them to help create a better atmosphere.
