Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has revealed that Swansea City are interested in signing him this month. Senegal international striker Cisse has been affected by injuries so far this season, but he has still scored nine goals and created three chances in 13 Premier League appearances, while having a pass accuracy of 80% and a shot accuracy of 67%. Swansea are reportedly looking for a striker as Ivory Coast international Wilfried Bony appears to be on his way to defending Premier League champions Manchester City. It now seems that the Welsh outfit are keen on signing Cisse, who has himself revealed that the Swans want his services in the January transfer window. “We are speaking with a number of clubs, Swansea and others,”The Sun quotes the 29-year-old as saying. Cisse does not say if he wants to leave Newcastle for Swansea this month, but the fact that talks have started taking place suggest that the interest is mutual. The former Freiburg striker has a good record in the Premier League and will be a valuable addition to the Swansea team, who are currently above Newcastle in the Premier League table. If Newcastle do sell Cisse, then it will be interesting to see who they sign to replace him.
Well he is certainly a goal scorer and it will be nice for him to score some for us as he certainly likes to score them against us 3 in the last 2 games if i remember correctly.
Here is another possibility. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2015/0...-wilfried-bony-close-to-manchester-city-move/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Modeste_(footballer,_born_1988)
I like Papiss Cisse. But if we aren't going to play him with one of our other strikers, and if we are definitely keeping Gomis, I don't think we need 3 international strikers in our squad when we generally only utilise one of them at a time. We'll end up with unhappy players in the squad, and squad harmony, as we've seen in recent times, is pretty important.
Cisse is a tricky little player but he'll want to be number one. Completely different option to Gomis but when you compare the two Cisse's finishing is on another level.
But Olivera is only on loan so will only be here till the end of the season, unless then we decie he is worth a punt then. Yesterday he played the Siggy role and if he can do that we would have 2 good strikers and 2 good attacking no 10's so it would work. At the moment we don't have cover there unless we include Emnes as Siggy replacement.
I would take cisse in a heartbeat as long as the price is right how long is left on his contract as ashley is as shrewd as hj when it comes to selling players.
I'd have thought his wages might be a little to high for us. But if the finances suit us, then this would be a very shrewd signing as he is a very good finisher.
Valley didn't Gomis come here because we paid him more than Newcastle offered in wages. Not so sure he pays big money up there. pardew apparently was the lowest paid manager in the PL.
Really? That's interesting then. Like I say, if the package suits us financially, then he'd be a very good signing for us.
Newcastle total 39 goals in 99 games over a 4 year period. Career total 130 goals in 313 games over a 10 year period. Not a bad shout but he's injured a lot and would be a risk imo. After watching yesterday I think we already are fine up top. Gomis showed himself, Emnes looked interested and Olivera has bags of potential. About Olivera: I know a few Benficistas who say Olivera isn't a striker at all but a marauding AM a-la Michu/Rooney. They go on to report that Olivera is more than capable of wearing Siggys shoes full time as, they say, he is more skilful than Siggy and is renowned for having a huge engine, an eye for the breathtaking and a killer pass. They say he can play striker too as a secondary role. You probably realise by now that they are gutted he's left Benfica They go on to say that they doubt Olivera will return to Benfica as Jesus, their coach, has never rated him and holds a childish grudge against him after a training session spat (two years ago). Because of this they feel he has not been given a fair chance to settle in the first team, which they feel he deserves. Because of all this Olivera wants out. Just regurgitating what they've told me but a space to be watched I think.
Nice one stumpy good to hear, by the way mate change those bloody goggles, they make you look far too intelligent..................
For the love of god swans DONT sign Cisse. He is massively inconsistent, disappears for large parts - if not all - of the game and is a walking injury. I have a mate who is a toon fan and he would love to see this go through so they can use the money to buy someone better. Steer clear swans!
