Did you watch the whole game musty? If you watched on TV you might not have seen the whole picture. I was at the game and he moved from beginning to end and didn't stop running. His hold up play was as good as Bony's at times. His finishing will improve with more game time I'm sure, and if you remember many Swans fans were criticising Bony in the beginning. So yes, Gomis was MOM for me.
I did watch the whole game Mrs Miggins and he was a statue at times in the first half however did well in the second. Maybe my TV was on pause a few times.
Pluses - Gained a point from being a goal down Apart from final 1/3 Taylor played well Ash was outstanding The pairing of Leon & Carroll allowed us outplay WH for long periods Gomis' goal and work load Subs in time to make a difference. Not so good - Giving away possession especially from second balls and knockdowns Most players had passing issues at some time during the game FInishing An exciting game SAVED by our goal - had that not gone in a few player would have been taking pelters tonight.
Routs is the big problem here. He goes 5 yards forwards and then gives the opposition the ball every time.
thanks Taff, I didn't think it was just me. funny how each person interprets a match differently and looks for different things. I thought Rangel was crap, Dyer had his best game in a while (not saying it was good, just better than what he has been serving up). Barrow was good when he came on and Taylor was also good. Routledge needs to be sold, was useless.
You dont sell a player on the back of some bad performances - Routledge has been excellent for us over the years and will find that form again. IMO he needs a break and some starting competition to sort his head out.
Don't agree at all musty and everyone around me praised Bafe's workload. He didn't stop from beginning to end and his layoffs and hold up play was excellent. I'm amazed that anyone can have a go at him other than perhaps for him snatching at some shots. Like I said, Bony's been guilty of that and Gomis will get better with game time. Exiled is right, you don't sell players if they're off their game. Routledge scored one of the best goals I've seen at the Liberty just a few months back.
Hes not the only one exile , everyone needs to sit here and there to rest and get hungry ...players like Dyer and Routledge dont lose talent , they get tired and lose focus .
A fair result, though I can't help feeling if we (WHU) hadn't lost Collins for the corner we would have won. P.S. I wish the real mrs Miggins looked like that
guys opinions are like assholes, we all have one, lets agree to disagree. my opinion is routledge (however great he has been in previous years or if he scores a wonder goal a year) should not get a start in front of Montero and Barrow and even Dyer.
No problem Musty. I am the real Mrs Miggins, Mr Miggins! Collins is a clueless clod. No guarantee he'd have stopped Bafe's header but I take your point, you were down a man.
One thing I've noticed about Gomis is he does run alot , alot of unneccessary running at times too.His jump to head that "own goal" of Nolan's was magnificent , his wastefullness of Emnes's superb pass to send him in alone was dismagnificent , to say the least .Routledge is burnt out and overused and needs rest valley imo
Delighted with a point at the end of the day. An entertaining match with two even team IMO. I did think Gomis showed more promise today and agree with others that further improvement will come with game time. Also impressed with Tom Carrol. Very much a Joe Allen type player and fits right in with our style. Really don't think we missed Ki or Shelvey at all. Rangel was pants today and his time is close to up I'm sure. Very sloppy at times. Dyer and Routs the other relatively weak links in what was a pretty good overall performance against a good West Ham. Shame Andy Carroll didn't show class with his celebrations. Marred what I think will be one of the best goals at the Liberty this year.
Tbf to Joe, but Tom for me has the potential to be in a different league to Joe. We need to go all out and sign this kid. He is getting better with each game.
To much of a "paintbrush " statement towards Routledge imo musty , but its yours to make and mine to totally disagree with .I 'll file it as a kneejerk statement if you dont mind my opinion ..Routs needs a huge rest till the 1st of Febuary and he'll be back to his old magical ways
