I see there's no match thread up today, so I'll just start something with this.

Just the one goal, but it was enough. Not great but far more businesslike performance today. Although ALF drew a blank yet again, I thought he had a great game. He was non stop harrying their defenders when we didn't have the ball giving them no chance to settle.

I still wonder where we're going with this persistence with a 4-4-2 set up, but it got a result today despite the poor possession stats I've just seen on the Beeb. Everyone had a go, but Fulham looked very poor opposition to be brutally honest. Parker did show some class on times, and have to say was allowed to several times when he charged upfield unchallenged. McCormack looked as if he didn't quite know where to play.

Apart from ALF I thought young Simon Moore deserves a mention - he looked very composed and solid. If the rumours being bandied about all around me about the real reason for Marshie's absence are true, Moore will do for me.

No Fabio nor Macheda on the bench either - I wonder if their days are numbered with Malone and Revell now in the fold.

Just posted on another thread about Moore.

I can see Fabio being moved on, Macheda i think will stay till the end of the season.
Thought Malone after a shaky start settled pretty well and Revell chased more lost causes in about 20 mins than KWJ has all season

We won , we looked fitter. Thats the positives.
However we can barely string 2 passes together.
ALF ran around a lot ill give him that. Should be dropped for an extra midfielder.
Just no quality or creativity on the ball anywhere.
    Fulham were garbage.
Whitts and Gunner (who has to be replaced by Ralls) again in midfield.
Turner by miles MOM for me.
I just cant see us going anwhere but down the table with Slade.

    Moore played well v Colchester.

Couldnt judge him on today. I would have kept a clean sheet.

I thought Malone had an excellent game, apart from that ****ty chesting thing he did shortly befor being taken off. There was, I think, a metal togetherness we've not seen for a long time. The players responded to the support, so I hope we're back on track.

Marshall as captain was a big mistake. Moore looks a classy keeper, good effort. Three points and a clean sheet, that'lol do for today, but much improvement needed soon!

I thought Revell had a good half, he ran the channels well. Early yet but did seem to have a bit about him.

We sort of alternated between a 4-4-2 diamond and a 4-2-3-1 once Revell was introduced. Alf had a good first half except for tamely back passing the ball when presented with our best chance from open play.
I thought once again the attempt to play Whitts as a holding mid 1st half was a disaster. We were terrible at times without the ball and lucky Fulham were so poor.
2nd half Whitts moved forward and Gunnar played a much more suitable defensive role. Once adeyemi was moved in front of the back 4 with Gunnar I thought we looked (dare I say it) solid.
I was hugely encouraged by the 2nd half. I think we've got the players to make a really decent side behind Revell. I agree Turner was superb, also that Malone had a very ropey first 20mins.
Morrisons threat as an attacking centre back and the minimal difference between him and manga in defensive quality mean he'd be my pick to form a partnership with Turner.
