I doubt you will be wanting to revisit, but please bookmark it and we'll see how you feel about it then.

Before the game today I thought you was being too optimistic. Now, if that impact continues, automatic promotion is within City's grasp. Six of the seven defeats have been by the odd goal and combined with sloppy draws we are currently just outside the top six. With a bit of tightening up, bold decisions (like today) and good man management, then the deficit should be made up. Time will tell.

I'm trying not to get overly excited or have high expectations as that can lead to bigger disappointments. But I'm going to take this win and enjoy it. :)

I suggested yesterday that all we needed was someone in charge who knew what he was doing. Today it looks like we had two.

We're back in with a shout. Couldn't have asked for a better start. The buzz is back!

Exactly what I was thinking! I assumed Carrabuh was just doing this as an exaggerated wind-up... But starting to believe he might be right!

Not at all. Though I'm not sure why you're thanking us, I'd understand it if you had beaten Derby.

What went wrong in your game? I only saw the result and about five mins and if I'm honest those five mins you were on top.

Yes it's one game but that isn't really the point. This season - scratch that - the last two years has seen us become a divided club. Mistakes have been made across the board and the atmosphere at the club has ebbed from flat to downright poisonous. Yet from nowhere, a young man from Scotland who most of us had little knowledge of has inspired us as fans.

That's something quite unusual - most clubs fans wouldn't react like that. Today everyone was unified and with the personnel we have at the club, this league is still there for the taking. It feels like the start of something good and that harmony will rub off on everybody. I guarantee the atmosphere next week will be buzzing - far more so than any other home game since we fell out of the top flight.

    That's a big thing.

As many folk have said the team/squad is v good for this division- just needs some cohesiveness imposed on the team- I bet we will be above Ipswich at the end of the season- come back and revisit this post- my arse

2 bad decisons rob, Derby should have been down to 10 for the whole of the second half and should have had a penalty early in the second. but thats life, no doubt we will get a lucky one or two at some point. we played poor and derby weren't alot better, pretty poor game through out.

Am I right in saying that the only defeat to a top rival is the Middlesbrough away fiasco? If that is so, then it shows the inconsistency of City's season. I still remember when a certain Martin O'Neill came in to rescue us to automatic promotion from nowhere in 1982. Latterly it was Lambert and Holt. It can be done!

Ipswich - Derby was a dreadful game I have to say. Looked nailed on for 0-0 but an error was the difference. I bet they were delighted they put it on TV!

Surely it's no coincidence that for the first time in ages, ColU-Mike pays us a visit and we beat top of the table in their own back yard, scoring the winner while down to ten men?

ColU-Mike, you are legend, we love you and welcome you as an honourary Canary! <hug>

It would still take a huge points total between now and the end of the season to get top two. Very unlikely but I agree with others - it's a very poor division. It's there for the taking for any team who gets their act together

Was it Chrissy that should have been sent off?
Derby are really nothing special - I watched our game against them and aside from Martin, who was excellent, they were average and we were extremely unlucky to draw. I just don't get this league.

It may be that Bournemouth bounce back from today's result and same for you, but otherwise there isn't a team that seems able to find consistency. Almost unbelievably, it could still be any of the top seven who get autos at this rate. Though I still think Bournemouth will get one of the two and for obvious reasons we're the least likely with so much ground to make up.

your right supers, it was a bloody poor game. both teams plus even the ref didn't turn up. I can't remember derby having a decent chance all game apart from the cock up, we had a couple early on but after that piss poor.

hey ho, had to happen sometime!

    Yep. Ref was dreadful.

Ref wasn't much better in our match by all accounts. It was Chris Foy though so it's to be expected!
