I'd really like to sit down and ask our CB's why when you have the ball rolled back to you 30 yards out.. do you insist on passing it back to Mignolet who at best will kick it to the half way line but normally, kick it out of play?

Do you not think you could do something better with the ball than that?

    RE lovern..

I was thinking about this earlier. I just want to point to Euro 1996. Venebles played 3 at the back with paul ince told to sit in as an extra defender when we had not got it.

This 3 was not 3 brutes. it was neville and pearce wide of adams... the wing backs were MC manaman and anderton!

There is a case here to say actually know know what if the boy markovic is willing to be a really expensive defender and can is willing to play CB... then this could actually work.

I eman if van gaal is a genius for playing yuong and valencia as wing backs.... well its been thought of a long time before that.

    Long terms would this work?

look honestly its coached.... they pass back as teams won't chase up that much. if they pass shorter forward teams will push up a bit following the midifelder forward. you get the ball straight back and get pressure.... pass it back to keeper, nobody presses and you don't make a mistake.

Thats it really... I would be asking more why do lucas and henderson insist time after time to play lateral or not even look up before passing straight back to someone when they are in a good position.... its fairly much constant this game. henderson comes alive wider.

Think it would be a waste personally but it's good that the lad can play in different positions.

Same with Can - as good as he has been as CB, he needs to be in midfield to get the best out of him.

But as I said - it's good that these players are flexible and can adapt.

But that's in a normal team where they know the keeper will kick it. When we pass back to Mig, all teams close him and put him under pressure because they know it'll force an error.

This isn't some tactical masterclass it's common sense. I'd rather Sakho put it 40 yards down the line into the corner than Mig kicking it to the half way line, 20 yards ahead of our CB's at best.

ah well... my 1-1 prediction is ****ed but hey.... i'm happy... we should have got 3/4 here but when gerrard went off we went to piss... and really once the sending off happened we were done for the day.

3 vital points... very happy with that... away points too in a hard hard block of 4.
