Interesting article about how good Toby has been for us, pointing out how he has made no mistakes leading directly to a goal compared to 7 by the £20 million player, Lovren. Talks of how he has made the most blocks of any Saints player, whilst also giving Fonte a mention. Apparently told Atletico coach that he was leaving to play, but would return (boo), but article suggests this may not happen (hurrah) because others will be interested (boo). Finishes by saying that he will be the best defender in the ManU v Saints game.

Would love him to stay at the end of the season,such a good player. He will be off at the seasons end tho. I was very surprised we got him in the first place tbh.

In many ways, I quite like this loan malarkey. Given Lovren might as well have been a season loan, and the fact tons of our players will leave after one or two seasons of success with us, it makes me feel less possessive. Toby for me too has been our standout player, and really gives his all to the fans too - you can tell he is happy to be here. But there is less speculation than there would be on him if he were permanent, as is less newsworthy given he belongs to a Spanish club; and when he goes, I won't feel as robbed. Just very grateful to him for his immense contribution.

Wonder if he'd sign if we made top four, though?

From his personal perspective, I would say that it is probably the very point of whether he will stay or not.

 

Perhaps that is what he is holding out for.
