Apparently Spurs are listening to offers.

I'd be happy with a potential loan with a view to a perm.

    Thoughts?

No. We have plenty of cover. We have 5 central defenders on our books already.

Another of Levy's 'bargains'? I would be too worried that he's been patched up for sale - Levy is a very shrewd operator - seems to always sell right at the point when the player's reputation is positive, but their best playing days are behind them.

I understand your concern. However at 29 he has a lot more left in the tank than Dunne, Hill and Rio. All of which will be out of contract in the summer. Leaving us with only Caulker and Ned really.

A 6 month loan to bed him in, see how he stands up to playing weekly. Keep tabs on any injuries, and then all being good, purchase in the summer. It really is a no brainer for me.

Hence the loan with view to purchase. Takes away the risk long term.

We'll take him if they throw in Harry Kane and Andros Townsend on a season-long loan as well...

A cardboard cut-out would be as effective. No wonder Piers Morgan calls him 'fossil'...

An injury-prone Spurs player who would see us as a step down. What could possibly go wrong?
