On point 3, is the reason why some fans think we will be worse off. Yes he can have a pot shot at the 90th minute that wins or draws the game but a team that doesn't rely on one individual will still find a way through. Last minute goals are a collective of a never say die attitude in a team irrespective of the individuals and you only have to look at United under fergus.

The reality is some of the best matches in the past 2 seasons Liverpool have played did not involve Gerrard as everyone else took responsibility. My issue with this whole affair is how our captain has gone about it after the announcement.

I'm shocked, astro. It's so unlike you to want to wind anyone up. :)

look at spurs these days they are not giving up and erikkosn is doing the business. its taken 6 months to get them up there. swansea should not be the only example as i feel swansea payed way to much respect to anfield and sat back. We played well as well. Until we do it for 4/5 games its not a real thing we can hang a hat on.

everyone needs leaders. we bought a torres, we bought an alosno, we bought a suarez.. we can buy others to do the job just as all sides can.

LFC and UEFA would be the ones doing the winding up. As usual, I would just be an innocent observer enjoying the view <ok>

As much as I loved Gerrard during his LFC career, I think he's over estimating his ability to continue playing at a high level and I don't think Rodgers or the media repeatedly blowing hot air up his ass or playing him every week is helping him to realise that he's actually 34 and slow with poor stamina.

I can't fault him for his desire to play, but I don't think he's thinking rationally if it's down to footballing reasons and not money.

It`s taken Harry Kane to get them up there, not his scoring ability (which is good), not his all round ability (which is good) but his drive and enthusiasm. He has lifted the efforts of the whole team, some players just have this affect on teams.

San Diego is nice year round you can't really judge how the weather is going to effect Gerrard when you're hanging out by the beach in one of the nicest areas in the country. During the summer in the Midwest and the east coast it will be extremely hot and extremely humid.

Not sure why you're implying Diego knows nothing about the MLS when you clearly don't have a clue about it either. All he mentioned were 2 statements about the league that are true. The MLS isn't going to be a place where Gerrard can take it easy on his body. If that's what he really wanted he could have moved Qatar or Asia for a big pay day. He'll be one of the best, if not the best player in the league from a technical stand point, but it isn't that big of a drop off in terms of the physicality of the premier league.

I'm only implying 50% of his games will be in la not in the desert. I know that some are played at ridiculous hours in burning heat for tv.... And I know there's a lot of travel and media stuff too but my point still stands. It's nowhere near the same standard

Beckham's game for Galaxy consisted of taking free kicks, taking pens and making Hollywood passes, Gerrard will do the same Mano.

And he won`t complete many 90 mins, which is what i was saying. The whole "managed playing time" excuse is a sham, he either hates Rodgers or wants a last big pay day.

Some people over here still think of the MLS at it`s inception, they don`t realise the improvement there has been <ok>

Of course hell compete many 90 mins, he will have others to do the running just like Beckham did, if you'd seen many games from Beckham's time at the Galaxy you'd know he basically sat just in front of their defends pinging balls, he never used to do a lot of running so conserved energy, Gerrard is well capable of doing the same Diego.

Like he sits in front of your defenders pinging balls about? He will be closed down by fast players and have about the same affect he has with you this season or maybe even less.

    <laugh>

Do you ever watch MLS Diego?

It has improved over the last 6 years or so but its nowhere near the standard of the prem and the players are not as tactically astute as they are over here, Apart from LA, New England and a couple more the MLS is poor on quality players.

It`s not about the quality or tactics (though i think they are better than you are allowing), it is about the pace and physicality of the game. Gerrard will be way above the quality standard of most over there (tactically i reserve judgement), but he is certainly not going to find the pace or physical side any easier than here and that has been his problem.

He doesn't need to find pace Diego he needs to find space, like I said Beckham never had to do much running yet he made a big impact based on his passing, Gerrard won't be expected to do much running, he'll be expected to put through balls through to the forwards and take free kicks.

Don`t tell me that as a Liverpool supporter you haven`t noticed that he often takes a look up (telegraph), takes two steps back and then makes the hollywood pass. That is because he has nobody in his face, in the MLS he will. Beckham could play the pass with half a yard of space.
