Graham is firmly out of contention at the Stadium of Light and Wigan believe he is a player who could strengthen their squad. The Latics have been in dire form since the start of the season and are starting to be cut adrift in the Championship relegation zone. It is a position which doesn't seem to reflect the amount of quality they have in their squad and Graham's arrival would only increase the options available to Malky Mackay. Sunderland were understood to be hoping to receive around £1 million for Graham in the summer, but they may have reduced their demands now. The experienced striker has already been on a loan move to Wolverhampton Wanderers this campaign, where he scored once, and it is thought that he has no chance of forcing a way back into Gus Poyet's plans. Sunderland are on the look-out for a forward in the transfer window and they want to clear Graham off the books to make space for a new arrival.
