There’s quite a fancy from the county out for the bounty tomorrow, people. PICK A LITTLE is a pretty exposed 7YO but has a very high win record having obliged no less than 11 times to date. Runs in the ‘lucky last’ at Kempton Park (7.10) off 63 which appears more than fair given he has raced off 81 in the past and has run very creditably off higher perches consistently over the course of the past couple of years. The important thing about this horse though is that he runs very, very well fresh and at this time of the year. His formline on his first run of the calendar year, when returning to the track, reads -1511 and his record when coming back after 3+ months off is -151. Tomorrow will be Pick A Little’s first run of 2014 and his first for close on 6 months. Robert Tart has been booked for the ride, which is also a positive, as his record atop the horse reads -115. Meanwhile, I wouldn’t be worried about the step down to 6 furlongs as once again Pick A Little’s last 3 runs over this trip read -115. The course is also no problem as Pick A Little is a 3 time, I say 3 time, Kempton victor. Sporting Life are currently predicting 14/1 re this one and he looks a very sound each-way recommendation. Good luck, troops.
Young rising starlet Sophie Killoran takes the ride on PLOVER 16-1 Lingfield 3;50 tomorrow. This horse has been massively disappointing especially given its six figure price tag since leaving Luca Cumani but it has now slipped to a ridiculous mark and the addition of the lasses 5lb claim will certainly help. This girl can really ride and if she gets the best out of PLOVER we will be laughing!
The ante-post lad in ‘The Weekender’ has his first wager ahead of the Cheltenham Festival in today’s edition and plumps for 2 pts each-way Champagne Fever, NRNB, at 10/1, in the old Champion Chase. Is that a good bet, bad bet, or a ‘Liberal Democrat’ of a wager (somewhere in between). What do we think, crew???
Nothing to lose Barney, if Sprinter shows up the Champagne Fever will go for the Ryanair and money will be reclaimed. If Sprinter doesn't show up you have 10/1 about a 3/1 shot
No better than LibDem, I'd say, Barney. The price is quite attractive about a decent horse, but the two big downsides are: a) if neither Sprinter nor SDG run, you're looking at a cumulative R4 of something like 50% b) you're trying to outguess Mullins (and his owners) nine weeks before the event. History teaches us that that's not impossible, but it's certainly very difficult. I don't see enough of an edge here to make the bet, but if you're feeling heroic......
Not the most inspired days racing but a couple of wee punts nonetheless. Surtee du berlais looks a decent price to land the bumper at ludow at 7/2.same price for the chuckmesiter (take a bow sir barney) in the first at taunton. Any doctors amongst the forum today.i have a severe case of man flue which I cant seem to shake? !
2 for me today Kempton 5.10 Molly Dolly small e/w on Mark prescott's newcomer @ 16/1 Kempton 6.10 Echo Brava @ 7/2
Brandon hill looks a fair bet still at 9/2 I managed to get 6s earlier so a bit of support throughout the day

Jonjo finally gets a winner even if it ran greener than kermit the frogs cock.he normally has his string spot on for cheltenham though but I would like to see a few more winners over the next few weeks before backing anything of his at the big one.
