He was crap for Lyon as well tho. He is ok as back up. Kane has always been a good goal poacher, it's just now Spurs are playing to suit him more. I wouldn't call Kane world class but he is a good player.

Well he hasn't, I'll grant you that, but he hasn't played all that much. I remember him well from his time in Lyon and he was a very good striker. I bet he'll show his worth now that Bony isn't around.

With Bony potentially on his way to City, does this mean Jovetic or Dzeko out? Can't see either of them being happy to drop down the pecking order.

If Bony was to join them for £30m then it would give City £117m worth of strikers, not counting Negredo who cost £16.4m.

The money in football is sickening!

The fact that Beef hasn't mentioned my magnificent "Germany or Volland?" pun means I'm now convinced I'm right, and it is Volland :)

    Copied from the guardian....

Rickie Lambert has emerged as an early transfer target for the new Crystal Palacemanager, Alan Pardew.

Pardew is anxious to bolster his strike force in the January window and has inquired about the availability of the Liverpool forward, who he signed for Southampton from Bristol Rovers in 2009. Liverpool are keen to retain Lambert despite his difficult start at Anfield but whether Pardew will drop his interest in the 32-year-old remains to be seen.

The England international made only his 10th start of the season for his boyhood club in Monday’s FA Cup win at AFC Wimbledon. The striker has had to adjust from a regular starting role to a substitutes’ berth since his £4.5m summer move from Southampton and recently admitted that was the wrong mindset with which to start his Liverpool career.

Lambert has scored twice for Brendan Rodgers’ team this season, at Palace in the Premier League and against Ludogorets in the Champions League, but having made a breakthrough with six consecutive starts has returned to the bench since the manager adopted a 3-4-2-1 formation with Raheem Sterling leading the attack.

Liverpool want to increase their forward options in January, not diminish them by allowing Lambert to leave so quickly, but attempts to advance Divock Origi’s £9.8m transfer from Lille, scheduled for the summer, are being resisted by the French club despite the offer of a premium on the fee.

You can have too many choices. Perfect is hard to find...he should select a team that will help him progress. Could do worse than Ajax and a few seasons in the Dutch League.

Bit doubtful surely? Would we really be interested at £30 +. Not sure we need to pay that much for a decent striker. Unless of course someone has offered that for jayrod..........

Dundee face a battle to hang on to striker Craig Wighton.
The Tele understands English Premier League outfit Southampton have tabled a bid for the 17-year-old.
That offer is believed to be within six-figures

Theory - City buy Bony and therefore have to drop an overseas player from their CL squad. Most at risk there is Bacary Sagna. United, realising they won't get Clyne until the summer, in their desperation to sign a right back go for the unsettled Sagna at a reduced price.

Clyne stays and signs a new four year contract at Saints.

Quintero was insanely highly rated before he moved to Porto. Pretty much every pundit worth their salt thought he'd go on to conquer the world. Obviously he's not done that, but he'd still be a fantastic signing under Koeman's tuition.
