That's a shame. He was perhaps my favourite when he was at QPR. I wish people like that would look at the roots of Christianity (before Peter's church got their mitts on it). It'd be nice if they looked at the gnostic gospels, too. But even if you should it to them, they'd choose not to look.

What a shame to hear him spouting such utter tosh, I really had a lot of time for him both as a footballer and as a pundit. That said though, I do worry that these days nobody seems to be allowed to express any kind of opinion which deviates from the supposed "norm" without being absolutely crucified for it (please pardon the simile). The shallow and hysterical mob psychology of Twitter certainly doesn't aid reasoned debate IMO.
