Duplicating a post from above doesn't help your cause. He's been excellent for us in the middle of a back 3. Only an idiot would think otherwise. Oh, wait.....
More the times i've seen him since and the countless times i've seen you lot, especially you, moan about him on here. I can't believe you're even arguing that he's anything other than a glorified Sunday League player.
Remember you are on our forum, talking ****e about a player that most would agree has been excellent. Someone put some stats up recently that showed our goals against with Alex Bruce in the side was significantly lower than not having him in the side. All the nepotism **** aside - he has never really let us down. He was the best player for us in the FA Cup Final, him going off changed the outcome of that game, probably. He never let's the team down, for a freebie and in the centre of a back 3, he's right up there. My Brother in Law is a Leeds United fan - He can't believe the improvement in Bruce.
^This I had a discusion withe a liverpool fan in the pub yesterday about Alex, people who dont see him week in week out just think hes in the team cos hes Steves son when we have learnt that he isnt.
Only someone who hasnt seen him playing this past month could claim this. It really is time to bury the nepotism / worst defender in the EPL tag. On form this season he's much better than a hell of a lot of players with more respected profiles and if there's one player who there should be an argument about favouritism being the only reason they're in the team, then it's Huddlestone. If he gets back in the team this weekend then some serious questions need to be asked.
Based on this season's form, I certainly wouldn't swap him for Wes Morgan. The nepotism tag was always going to be an issue though, it's the reason a manager should never sign his own son.
Certain starter for sure next season especially if Curtis Davies leaves in the summer(nothing certain mind). A back 3 of Maguire - Dawson and Chester on ability alone would be our strongest. Maguire really is coming on well under SB and looks way way better than he did last season in the fac semi.
Certainly for the Mertesacker corner John. That goal annoyed me as PM hates getting physical like @ Liverpool recently.
You mean the linesman who flagged the Newcastle goal offside when it was clearly NOT ???? Lucky Foxes.
You're not wrong there. Although earlier on in the season he kept strikers like Costa, Sanchez and Lukaku dead quiet. He's starting to look the part again but in the last few months he's been atrocious and at fault for about 90% of our goals conceded.
What Bruce Jnr lacks in skill , ability etc he more then makes up for it in effort , desire , commitment , he has those traits in bucket loads. Supporters will always warm to someone who hasn't the ability levels of other more skilful players but who will put their foot / head in when other players wouldn't, Alex Bruce is one of those players and his recent form is excellent. His two tackles versus Man United Boxing Day(2013) at KC in quick succession typify the type of full blooded player he is.
If by "play football" AKCJ means his ability with a football then you lot are stupid to argue with him. He is a decent defender and would fit into most Championship teams but with a football at his feet he is simply awful. In contrast to Chester or Maguire he is a world away. When either of them are pressured they keep calm and play the ball out, it seems as though Bruce's only options are; 1) Pass the ball to the keeper, 2) Hoof it as far as he can. In a team that tries to play decent football he is a serious weak link.
