Totally agree mate, BBC have even done a special black and white sad video montage speculating that it's because he's coming to us. Ridiculous. Like you say I can't imagine scoring four against Gateshead (as good finishes as they were) really stacks up to much, can imagine if you did that to Chelsea you'd be fairly ecstatic. Then why be a dick and celebrate like it's a massive achievement whilst simultaneously lauding it over the lowly non-league side you've ripped apart and broken their hearts.
Particularly after the way the game had gone, Gateshead held their own for 40 minutes and probably had the better chances, against a Premier League outfit, and when he scored it just felt a bit like the West Brom lads all felt embarrassed. I think it'd be odd to not celebrate because you're moving to another club. Makes you look like a bit of a tosser, like your heart isn't in it, you're only there to do a job until a better team comes in. I believe it'd be more likely he'd want to celebrate as a final hurrah. In reality, when Sturridge comes back, Liverpool already have a better version of Berahino
No one is saying he should take his shirt off and wave it around but he could at least smile. Is it not more cocky by not celebrating? Like you arent worth celebrating against and instead you just look like its a walk in the park?
When! And we are all assuming he will still be as fast and that, but he keeps getting injured and we've seen these injuries slow fast [players down in the past
Doesn't really matter about the speed, to be honest. Sturridge is a classier finisher than Berahino is, and a more consistent premier league performer. Saido needs to be given time and space, which a tiring Gateshead gave him. I think it'd be more cost effective to surgically remove Mario's finger from his arse, personally, than spunk £20 million on a less impressive version of what you already have!
Or not have signed him at all! Im hoping he'll be better when Sturridge is back, a lot riding on Studge, to much and we shouldnt be so heavy reliant again Ive not seen loads of Berahino tbh mate
Some of Berahino's finishes yesterday were very nice. The fact that he was playing Gateshead was irrelevant to those finishes.
They were nice, but the fact he was playing Gateshead was irrelevant to about one of those finishes. Wayyyyyyyy too much time and space. In three of them the defence left him in about ten yards of space I know you guys aren't used to seeing a good premier league defence (me either), but there's a reason Saido hasn't scored many career hattricks until that moment.
Im not saying Berahino is the sort of player we want but come on....no one can call Sturridge a consistent premier league performer when he hasnt played since August!
Your contention that Sturridge isn't a consistent premier league performer comes from the fact he's had an lengthy injury set back this season? Is that a serious remark? There's a reason most Liverpool fans are desperate for him to come back
Fair enough on his fourth since that was in the 90th minute but the other three were scored on 42, 46 and 53 minutes
You didn't watch the game I take it then Gerrez! Gateshead were flat on their feet by the end of the first half
Nah, didn't watch it nor do I rate Berahino. Higher up in this thread I said I wouldn't pay £4m, never mind the rumoured £24m! Just thought the bit I highlighted of your comment was amusing considering the time of goals
He has yet to prove his consistancy without Suarez to feed him, he never did it at Chelsea or City (though he was younger them), he has never done it for England, constantly out shone by Welbeck. The reason most Liverpool fans are desperate for him to return is there is no one else to pin their hopes on
His record at both Man City and Chelsea are decent, especially considering he was never given a chance. Notice you omitted his record at Bolton too
8 goals in 12 games and kept them in the PL, nah not impressive. And with Bolton's famous massive spending and huge wage budget at the time....
