Under Ashley we have won a total of 3 cup ties in 7 years. Absolutely shocking.

Not yet - we might as well have him in the firing line for the forthcoming batterings against Chelsea and Southampton. Wake me up in February.

Yes, I know. You're correct on all fronts. It's all a bit of a waste of time. I'm not going to bother anymore with this pointless worry and feverishly looking at football news sites. Clearly my own personal dreams will never be fulfilled in this pursuit of supporting Newcastle United to glory that can never be achieved. I'm glad you have directed me towards the light. Next Saturday, I'll go shopping with the wife instead of going to Stamford Bridge.

I am forever in your debt.

I'd like to think we do support the club and the players, just not the Chairman and his dancing puppet, which is what we'll always have as he picks who he wants. I'd also like to think that most of the die hard fans will be here long after Ashley sods off.

Thick Geordie ****s? You don't half write a load of ****e sometimes. <doh>

We know about the owner but that does mean we have to blow pardew.

Take this lecture of yours and bury it up your fundament because its boring the arse of all of us.

    This.

Unless we accept that this is how it is right now, we are always going to be disappointed. There is nothing wrong in wanting more and wanting better, but under Ashley we won't get more than we have and we won't get better than we have. It stinks, but we know to him the Club is just a business in which he is involved only for what he personally gets out of it. Everyone else - the fans, the players, the manager - are just his pieces on his chessboard. One day he will be gone but the Club will still be here (which ironically may be his doing given that the one thing he has done is put us on a stable financial footing) and maybe then we will have an owner and a Chairman who believes in this Club as much as we do. Until then however, as 'Somebody's...' said, we must continue to support the Club and the players, otherwise what are we in this for?

And of course, the other thing to look forward to is the party we will have when Ashley leaves :emoticon-0105-wink:.

    It's fun, isn't it?!

I don't think anyone in their right mind expected us to win. But why let that get in the way of a good bit of infighting! ;)

    1) Ashley picked that team, or at least ensured a good few weren't available. Surprised, in hindsight, to see Tiote starting.
    2) All are right - this is it, it's not getting better until the owner has a modicum of ambition beyond 40 points
    3) For me, I am struggling to see the point - the detachment to the club is really grating on me - I hate the owner, I dislike even the most geordiest of coaches at the club, I hate the penny pinching, the abhorrent communications, it's all becoming such a chore.
    4) Perhaps worst of all, I am struggling to feel anything for players who are now cycling through 18 months at the club if they're good, less if they're really good (Perez, Aarons) and the only ones that put in "service" are dross (Willo, Gouff, Saylor).
