And I say "No,No,No"....I do not rate the guy!!Why do we always go for 'arry's rejected??Bent was a good signing, but didn't stop for long.Defoe is not my idea of a quality player or person.I can only hope the article is a load of old twaddle.

Would absolutely love to see Defoe. Quality player, one bad season and people think he's bad. What a great signing that would be.

Defoe would be a good signing IMO, would get goals and would be a fans favourite and the marquee signing of the summer for us. Hopefully if it does happen the deal does not involve Gyan

Yes, he's an established prem striker in the Judas vein, a 'very useful engine'

I would be very happy to see him sign for us. The rumour has some legs too, when you add the information from BB's contact at BA stating that he did fly to the North East the other day. I also read an article on another website from an estate agent, saying that a colleague of his was showing Defoe around properties in Newcastle around the same time as the reported flight to the NE.

    Sign him up Brucey!

I would be extremely happy if we signed him, as long as Gyan stays too. Gyan and Defoe are worth 30+ goals. This would be a sign of intent by Bruce to push for Europe. Look at Defoe's goal scoring record, it's one of the best in the EPL for the last 5 years.

If Bruce signs him and this Russian we will be in business. I've said it before and I will say it again Bruce has 60m to spend this window:

    Gardener £5m
    Wickham £8m
    Ji dong won £2m
    Larsson £0
    Westwood £0
    Elmo £2.5m
    Brown, Oshea, Gibson £12m
    Pav £7m
    Defoe £10m
    Total £46.5m

Which still leaves money for a lb or lw.

I could see a loan or 2 as well. Even the odd one leaving too.

We need more than one experienced striker signed up mate. We only have Gyan with PL experience plus 2 new strikers with no PL experience. If I was a betting man, I would put a large wedge on two more experienced strikers coming in before the transfer window closes.

Defoe is to good to pass up.

A big YES as long as it dosn't involve Gyan. If Gyan wants to go then fine but not to "good ole harry" who IMO was the first to sound him out. For once why don't we just take a stand or else who next Sess that would definately be the death nail in the coffin of trying to fill the SOL.

Yes from me. Every team needs a player the opposition hates and he will be that player.

If we get Defoe then we'll lose Gyan not sure I'd be overly impressed with that trade to be honest.
